I find it ironic that all those critisising the police trying to disperse thes women are all too ready to support the police in this situation when other groups get together for any other reason.

It'll seem less ironic the more times it's typed out.
The Police have not had a good pandemic.
There have been instances when they don’t themselves know the rules and wrongfully detain and fine innocent people.
There have been instances where the police have purposely assumed powers that aren’t there.
There has been little common sense or leadership shown.
For the past year numerous cases have arisen of insensitive policing, which break the bond of policing by consensus.
Last Sunday, a protest by nurses about their measly pay increase saw their leader arrested and given a £10,000 fine. Utterly stupid.
Arresting women at a vigil concerning a woman murdered by a policeman, is just beyond the pale. Some discretion should be shown.
I fear the police have badly let themselves down this past year and are losing the support of the public.
As the police themselves have not generally been vaccinated, sending them in to do this put them at unnecessary risk.
The police haven't covered themselves in glory over this but the idiot lefties calling for the abolition of the MET during the vigil should be ashamed of themselves.
Its a shame some way couldnt of been found of allowing a controlled vigil but its allso a shame and inevitable that some other groups would jump on the protest bandwagon and look for a chance for a confrontation.
a zoom vigil would have been safe and many more people could have been involved.
We're in lockdown. Vigils and suchlike can wait.
Women arrested at a vigil contrast with last weekend when thousands of Rangers fans celebrated on the streets of Glasgow.

It would but was never going to be enough for some. Maybe there should be an allowance in the covid rules on socially distanced approved demos with limits of say 30. Could of had them in sevral places. All agreed with police or local council.
Am convinced tho there would still have been at least one big illegal gathering from those who want to hijack with there own agenda but theyd of got less sympathy from police breaking it up
It didn't look good. Heavy handed. But one can not allow one group to flaunt the rules or there won't be control over any group. As long as the police can show this would be the response to any protest, or crowd, in the current situation then they'll have covered themselves. That stated, my views on the official reaction to a virus are probably well known. The whole thing is over the top and disjointed.
but why should the police, who have enough on their plates right now, have to be involved in managing vigils? Because there is no way that the people who want to be out there are gonna say "oh I am number 31, I better go home again"
A third Covid wave is inevitable....when will people realise that the restrictions are here for a purpose?
I just don't get it.
I suggested some weeks ago that perhaps a curfew is now called for and I still stand by that, also as tragically sad it is for Sarah Everard I can't see what a vigil actually achieves
I`m pretty disgusted that it seems all men are tarred as potential predators. How many men have been killed in the last year and where is the big fuss over that.
Sunk, there were 28 arrests made outside Ibrox. Just saying.
While there were no doubt many whose sole intent was a peaceful vigil, there were also many whose sole intent was to demonstrate. They were told they could not do it. They did it. They pay the penalty. And, as has already been said, the family of Sarah Everard will not wish to be associated with what took place.
The Met got this badly wrong. There will be consequences.
I expect Cressida Dick, someone promoted way beyond her competency, will finally be got rid of. And not before time.
We can’t forgets pandemic when it suits us .
I thought that we all had to obey Covid restrictions which means staying at home except for shopping, exercise etc.
Didn't see a lot of social distancing going on at that vigil.
Woke women in South London have to obey the rules. There I have said it
