Naomi, as Andrew is the Queen's favourite son, isn't it just possible that her decision had nothing whatsoever to do with Harry and was made more in order to let Andrew down gently on his request to wear his Admiral's outfit?
Maybe Ken, but it makes more sense to act to avoid embarrassment for anyone. For everyone to be in uniform after Harry has been stripped of his military titles would have been terribly embarrassing for all. I think this was a diplomatic decision - and a good one.
Personally I'll be dressed as Napoleon.
yeah she has said everyone wears a suit
demanding entitled children, hey?
who woulda thought
I personally think she made the decision because she knows there would have been more of a backlash from Andrew in Admiral's garb than Harry being the only one of the tribe in civvies. Not for the first time, we must agree to disagree, Naomi :-)
Hoppy, you know full well the doctors have binned your Napoleon outfit :-)
The Queen is very good at making the ‘right’ decision , I know she and Philip were hung out to dry by the media when Diana died for not leaving Balmoral earlier and for not lowering the Union flag on Buckingham Palace , for the first part they were trying to protect their two grandsons , re the flag, yes it was a mistake not to put it at half mast and I doubt she’d have taken that decision herself but in her 69 year reign , she’s hasn’t put a foot wrong , imagine how hard it was to stand and be cordial to people like Martin McGuinness and Gerry Adams after her Uncle was murdered by the IRA ? But she did , she’s one special lady
she is bobbi, and now she has to put her best face on and face the world, hard to do for ordinary folk, but she is in the spotlight
continuously, and this must be incredibly hard to do just now.
Ken, //Not for the first time, we must agree to disagree, Naomi //

If counting makes you happy, so be it. I'm not. Whether you agree with me or not is irrelevant to me.
Spot on Emmie , spot on
If he is an admiral then fine, if not, then not really the done thing as a uniform is more than just a choice of clothes, it's there to represent something.
Apart from the daily mail, how do abers know what the queen has decided ?
they must have got their info from someplace. They can't just print something and hope that its true.
Sun and Daily Express agree.
Oh well, thats it decided . No using the dressing up box for this occasion . ;-)
does anyone have a dressing up box,?
Yes. Children and the royals lol .
children perhaps, but most of the Royals as already said have earned their medals, uniforms as part and parcel of the Monarchy and service in one form or another.
//Personally I'll be dressed as Napoleon.//
zen ah weel gom as Mme Beauharnais

complete wizz Beauharnaise sauce - you noughty by!
// f counting makes you happy, so be it. I'm not.//
not a counter and not a linguist - little by little a picture builds up......

who gets to wear the funny hat on saturday ?
No need to worry about uniforms now as the queen has said none of the royal family will be in uniform.
