Polling Day

i hope that you have got your polling cards at the ready, unless like me you voted by
post. Big day for all concerned especially up in Hartlepool, where the seat is up for grabs.

The Greens have a white candidate, Sian Berry, as do the Lib Dems, neither i feel will win the job, not on their ethnicity but their policies.

I think it can be assumed that the Greens and the LibDems will be 'also rans'.

yes i would think so. I can't stand either woman, especially the Lib Dem candidate, who has a voice that could crack glass.

Anyway I swore I would not vote again unless/until our outdated and unfair system is overhauled. I'm not holding my breath.

i am more concerned at all those who are apathetic about the polling around the country... will they select a Tory for the Labour seat of Hartlepool.

Using that logic, the votes for other candidates should be reflected by racial preferences.

We have only to vote for the police commissioner, I don’t even k ow who is standing against her! Don’t think I’ll bother. Depends if I feel sorry for the people in the polling booth as very few will go and vote.

i have gone with my conscience and voting preference in regards to all the candidates. i haven't judged them on colour, no point. i like Shaun but don't feel he will win against Sadiq.

Corby, white people are in the minority in London and will vote for the candidate who most closely reflects their own political views. Elections in many areas is doubtless influenced by ethnicity and it will be interesting to see which way this one goes. I suspect the vote will be split rather more than it was the last time.

that should say White Britons are in the minority in London. Which is something of a surprise to me. But i guess as an experiment in diversity its worked well, or not....
