Are you deliberatly missing the point?
What other illness could you have without having ANY symptoms whatso ever?
And then if you THINK you have an illness, you have to rely on a test that is unreliable?
Think I might try to get a few days of next week, weather looks promasing. Might have covid (Ive spread it enough apparently by been selfish enough to carry on working)

Atheist - it was from
A newspaper report last week.
Not an opinion i sucked out of the ether
I’ve just looked (in vain) for the link.
In summary tho it said that as not enough folk have been exposed to normal flu etc this season that next flu season expected to be worse.
They also mentioned kids getting sicker from
“Everyday” type virus’ because their immune systems hadn’t been exposed much because of school closures.
I’ll continue to try find the link

Nailit, I try not to be rude, but I thought I knew you well enough to speak out.
I think you are presuming that because you have been lucky you don't need to worry about others' welfare and you are suggesting that you should just go about as normal, even though you may be infectious but don't feel ill in yourself.
I don't think that's right.

"
Pneumonia or flu killing 10 times more than Covid.
Latest data from ONS - 84 deaths mentioning Covid in the week ending June 11th. In contrast there were 1,163 deaths involving 'flu or pneumonia.
Covid is now responsible for just 0.8%of deaths.
Even these figures are lower than would be expected by respiratory disease for this time of year. The 5 year average for deaths involving flu & pneumonia is 1,704.
NHS leaders in Indian/delta hotspots have said that they are not seeing the rises in admissions and deaths that previously accompanied increased infection figures."
I've shortened the article, but the salient facts are there.
Time we stopped worrying about Covid and got on with life. This winter's 'flu variant is the one worrying me - but if anyone tells me to go into lockdown because of 'flu I may make a rude reply. It's nasty - I've had real 'flu twice (possibly 3 times, but unsure about 1968/9) but one lives or one doesn't.
