IMO, there's an argument to say Japan would have won the Far East as our troops would have had to be pulled back in to counter no Americans or Ruskies....however, the Germans and Russians would have head-butted over the Eastern European front at some point.

For those of you who haven't read it, Philip Dick's 'The Man in the High Castle' is worth a read - the premise being that the States was raided on both coasts and then the intrigues of the Japanese running into the Germans.... There's a TV film about it that made some five to seven years ago....

"probably not" is indeed the answer - though I'd have said "certainly not". So what is it you're arguing about?

I know the British were "there" earlier - until the Germans chased them out of mainland Europe. Full credit to the RAF for keeping an invasion at bay, but an Allied re-invasion simply wasn't possible till the Americans joined in (and Eisenhower was put in charge).

The Americans would have been drawn, the question was timing - after all the supply lines from the States were running well before the declaration - and the first incident involving a sinking of a US ship or assets would have triggered the declaration.

I totally retract what I wrote earlier because it now occurs to me that if Biden were to resign Harris would then become President, and that would be awesome.

Just think how Biden’s critics would react to that.

If she did as well as Obama she could be there a couple of terms too.

Shame Biden didn't think about all those 'assets' that he has left behind though, truth be told, many of them will have been neutralised by killing the software from a distance - things like rocket launchers, bazookas etc., even the Black Hawks - though I am sure the Chinese and Russians will enjoy crawling over those.

Section 3 of the Twentieth Amendment declares that if the president-elect dies before their term begins, the vice president-elect becomes president on Inauguration Day and serves for the full term to which the president-elect was elected...so no two and a bit terms....

Britain obviously owes the USA (and Russia) a lot for winning WW2 for us but I think that debt is long paid.
