SP, //American Airlines has said Khan and his colleague were “deplaned” because they repeatedly refused to comply with crew member requests to stow luggage, place phones in airplane mode and adhere to face mask requirements.// I don't call 'repeatedly' refusing to comply with the crew's requests a 'minor infraction'. It might be convenient to claim that...
//Khan, who was born and raised in Bolton by his Pakistani parents, said he and his colleague were “picked on” because they were “two Asian boys” and it was a week after the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the US.//
…. but if you think he didn't say that there's no problem. He repeatedly failed to comply with the crew's requests and was consequently ejected - and quite right too.
I don't believe the crew of an international airline that flies people of all colours and creeds every day of the year are racist. They would not compromise the company's integrity - or their jobs. It's a ridiculous notion.
I say 'it's not helpful' to keep the conversation polite.
You say that you don't believe the crew could be racist because they deal with people of all races.
But these are merely people and people have faults. I'm not saying that they DEFINITELY picked on Khan because of his race but it's possible that that the one TCS staff member who made the decision was. It wouldn't be the entire cabin crew who took the decision.
It's awesome that you have such faith in people (the crew) - perhaps I'm a little jaded!
SP, why say it when nothing impolite has been said then? Very strange.
'Awesome' I think is a little over the top, but I do have a certain amount of confidence in the integrity of the crews of reputable international airlines.
