Well, I know sone of the demographics mentioned are target on occasion, but like any other group, they are fair game. There are other comics who will target leftist politics, climate activism or feminism. It's comedy, in my personal view, very little should be off limits.

I’ve listened to Nish - can’t remember him exclusively targeting Trump supporters and the white working class… but I *do* remember him doing bits about being Asian in the UK that we’re quite funny.

Is it possible that you might only remember the stuff that supports your argument?

I think so, sp. If they become not viable.... natural selection. Society, attitudes do change.
I also don't know anyone who victimised white males, but as they are about the only group left that haven't been fully saturated, I guess it will happen at some time. Comedians always need new stuff.

Douglas... just thinking, there may be a couple of individuals, I just can't think of any in particular. But while the majority of well-known comedians are white males... there isn't much risk of them ending up victimised.

Fcc, I don't agree with that either. Leave old stuff alone, for people that like it. Move on... they will soon see who or what, is or isn't still most popular, by audiences. But it isn't up to a handful of people who decide for everyone else.

At a stretch you could say Paul Chowdhury, but if you were to characterise his act, it focusses mostly on South Asian specific humour.

Me neither. Just wondering if I misunderstood your last post, sp? I think venues shouldn't decide what "they" think people are supposed to like, but what they actually do.
Comedy is like a mirror, people laugh, because they already relate to it. It doesn't "lead".

I read once that comedy doesn't work unless you're offending someone...I agreed with that until I saw Jim Gaffigan who is hilarious even though he's famous for not swearing and staying away from controversial subjects.

He's like Michael McIntyre, but funny.
