aa - I have had some filthy conversations over the 'phone with my partner(s), all with the expectation that they were private, unheard and strictly between ourselves. I imagine that the release of these overheard and taped conversation must have been one of the most exquisitely embarrassing episodes of Charles' life.

I don't think Diana played away in the beginning. Maybe after she had Wills and Harry, when she realised Charles was never going to love her. She looked for attention elsewhere.
