She may not be many's first choice but you never know who all sides of the party may opt for in preference to someone supported by another section. Besides the cheese speech wasn't that bad, I suspect many performed worse when they started out but became an old hand with experience.

Three years ago, the Conservative members voted overwhelmingly for Boris Johnson to be their leader.
That wasn’t exactly a great success.
Now they are about to go through the process again. Not sure they have learnt their lesson. I am not confident they will find the best leader for this country.

I have no idea who they'll elect. Apparently Liz Truss is popular with Tory MPs/members but I don't know why. If I was in the Labour Party she'd be the one I'd be wanting to win as I don't think she comes across well to the public in general.

The political landscape at any given time is fairly meaningless, it’s the character, demeanour and calibre of the person you’re looking at.
Johnson was a serial liar and adulterer back then too, which they knew.
One hopes they’ll be a tad more circumspect and rather more stringent this time around on who they nail their colours to the mast with.

Finding old embarrassing videos is not much use, she has had good ministerial experience since. She has the neighbouring constituency to mine in Norfolk and her constituents like her for the work she does for them.
