Next Pm?
I think that the UK is not ready for a PM whose skin is not quite the right shade of pale. Despite Mordaunt being female, I suspect that she will appeal more to the Tories than Rishi.
No link, I'm afraid. This is just an observation.

He's a Hindu, - nothing at all wrong with that - but is the UK really ready for Christmas trees outside number 10 & pujas within?
And finally, is a man with a wife who has more wealth than the Queen, who along with him is from 100% stock Indian & the majority of whose wealth is not within the UK the right choice for PM?
Also, & importantly, in England v India test matches, would he pass the 'Tebbit Test' ?

I think this OP, like some of your other posts, is deliberately inflammatory, but since you have posted it I will respond to Khandro's assertion which appears to be that culture rather than colour is an issue, and therefore a person whose predecessors are not indigenous to this country and who adheres to a religion other than Christianity is unfit to fulfil the role of Prime Minister.
I can understand where Khandro is coming from to a degree - cultures can clash - but I think he has his wires severely crossed with this one. For example if an Islamist (of any colour, nationality or background) were appointed to the role, by the very nature of Islam his priority would be to adhere to the tenets of his religion simply because that is what Islam demands. That, however, doesn't apply to Hinduism or to any other religion that I can think of. Unlike other religions, rather than being part of life, Islam dictates every aspect of life and that, I think, would influence the way in which the Prime Minister regarded his allegiance, his responsibilities, and his performance. Hinduism would have no such effect.
I repeat the (unanswered) question I asked Khandro on the other thread where he expressed the same view. Would he object to a Jew, who also embraces a religion and a culture emanating from foreign shores, being installed as PM?

naomi; We've already had a Jewish Prime Minister, & quite a good one; Benjamin Disraeli.
I agree that a Muslim would be even worse than a Hindu, I don't think I need explain why do I? - incidentally a Hindu in #10 would antagonise the entire British Muslim population both Sunni & Shia,
The incumbent should be, if not a card-carrying one, at least a 'Culture Christian', I'd also even accept an agnostic.

Khandro, //We've already had a Jewish Prime Minister//
Indeed, but your criteria is, you say, based on religion. Therefore if one 'alien' culture isn’t acceptable, why will you accept another?
As for 'Culture Christian', it seems to me that all the contenders for the job whose ancestry isn't indigenous 'Brit' are 'Culture Christians' - even the Hindu among them.
//I'd also even accept an agnostic. //
Should he count himself lucky to be so blessed?
