...She's bang on, the wee un keeps banging on about a referendum when the problems in Scotland are severe and numerous. You had your "once in a generation" vote in 2014, now get on with improving the lot of your people.

//That’s not what I meant of course. Having said that, she called NS an “attention seeker” - It’s an opinion of which there are many in politics. I can’t see it coming back to “haunt her” exactly//
We’ll see. Whilst not in the same sphere it may go down in the annals along with ‘peace in our time, prepare for government and I’ve got an oven-ready deal in order to get Brexit done’.
You can’t ignore other leaders and peers, you must have dialogue with them, especially amongst the United Kingdom, like it or not.
Ignoring just shows and proves ignorance.

///They didn’t have to deal with the leaders devolved administrations (who are neither their peers nor equals) some of whom, instead of concentrating on emptying the bins, prefer to strut their stuff as “international” leaders.///
Before the advent of televised parliamentary sessions and the internet, they didn't have every word and action scrutinised and pulled to bits either.

//nothing, but it will not be legal and will not be implementable. NS could find herself in jail.//
But by the same edict as that of Truss couldn’t/shouldn’t she just ignore her and have a referendum anyway as suggested?
In a game of titt for tat(extra t to get past the auto sensor, hopefully) one often ends up looking a titt if one is the instigator.

Especially as it would never be implemented or implementable the people would be angry ant being hoodwinked. Wee Burney could well find herself in trouble with her own executive.

These words are not being uttered in Parliament, naomi - it's closed down until the winter. Politicians love being on the telly, being quoted in newspapers and in internet reports. It's oxygen to them. Neither of them had to agree to the ridiculous TV debates; nor to being interviewed and quoted on (what the media incorrectly call) "The Hustings" day after day. Their fantasies and make believe should be presented only to the people who have a vote - the members of the Conservative Party. The rest of us should be left in peace and ignorance and just told the result next month.

Lol, treacherous? The Tories know all about that don’t they? There’s been plenty since the VONC and beyond.
Plus if you’re going to debase someone’s argument by ignoring them, their views are of no consequence to you so how is it treacherous?
Treachery means ‘guilty of or displaying betrayal’.
If you don’t want Scotland as part of a United Kingdom then you can’t bandy about such accusations, can you?

untitled: "it would never happen tora… can you imagine the consequences of arresting her? it would all but guarantee independence " - well it didn't in Spain:

i think holding an illegal referendum on secession probably would be “treacherous” but it wouldn’t matter if it worked and i think it would… Sturgeon’s loyalty is not to the state she lives in, it is to the state she wants to exist… i am not sure anything can now be done to prevent scottish independence
