^ Our forefathers also ensured we have a right to freedom of speech, Bobbi. And that includes criticising the government of the day, irrespective of whether or not we used our right to vote.

//Announce something, let your friends with the inside knowledge make a fortune by shorting the pound, then announce you're not doing it after all as if that makes it all better.
Is anyone really fooled by this ?//
It’s certainly bordering on criminal.

/The Conservative Party chairman has defended the chancellor after a report claimed he discussed confidential plans for the economy with financiers at a private champagne reception.

/As mortgage rates rise and the cost of living crisis deepens in the aftermath of Kwasi Kwarteng’s mini-budget, some politicians and their friends in the City continue to ride high above the economic storm – and even profit from it.
One investor who is making millions out of the financial crisis is the new chancellor’s former employer: high-profile hedge fund manager Crispin Odey.
Odey’s fund has been betting that the cost of government debt would increase, and that’s precisely what’s been happening – particularly since the controversial mini-budget last Friday.
But even before the chancellor’s announcements sent UK government bonds into a tailspin, Reuters had reported that Odey Asset Management was up 145% in 2022, thanks to its bet against bonds./
Not so much a ‘useful idiot’ but more a spy giving away secrets I’d say? It’s certainly all very suspicious.

You have to admire(if nothing else the brevity and honesty of this Tory politician:
//'We're ***ed' - Tory MP says Truss 'won't be here much longer'
A Tory MP has told our political correspondent Mhari Aurora that they don't believe Liz Truss will be in her role much longer, saying simply: "We're ***ed".
The unnamed MP said: "Very senior colleagues are telling me she won't be here much longer.
"When I ask they say because it's a choice between definitely losing the next election or maybe losing the next election.
"Everyone says she's ideological, she's not idea-logical. She learns phrases that make her sound ideological but below the surface there is nothing.
"The reason she freezes after a question from the media is a) she is thinking up a phrase to say that makes her sound ideological and b) she's furious. She's like a thesaurus of phrases that make her sound ideological.
"Before becoming PM every time she would answer a question, she'd pause and think about what answer would make her prime minister. That's it.
"She has no emotional intelligence but she's good if you give her a checklist. That's why she likes foreign policy, because she can get pre-arranged wins that make her look good.
"I didn't back her but if we get rid of her it will make us look incompetent. Boris damaged our integrity. Truss is damaging our competency."//

//PM evades question on her trust in chancellor
Prime Minister Liz Truss refused to say whether she trusted Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng - instead saying the two work together "very closely".
Speaking on day three of Conservative Party conference, Ms Truss evaded a question directly about whether she trusted Mr Kwarteng.
"I work very, very closely with my chancellor," she said.//
What she fails to realise is that her MP’s have no trust in her and the public have no trust in the government.

/'It's over, I know I'm finished' - how one Red Wall Tory came to conference and lost all hope
Liz Truss went into this conference hoping to reassure her MPs after a week of market chaos.
But from some of the conversations I've been having, the opposite has been the case.
One Tory who was elected in a Red Wall constituency in 2019 told me the conference in Birmingham had been eye-opening.
"It's over. I know I'm finished. It's just a question of how long we can last until we lose the next election. It's depressing.
"I was angry about the U-turn - she shouldn't have done it, and now Michael [Gove] knows he can pressure her. When you double down, you double down.
"Before this conference, if you'd told me people were trying to get rid of her, I would've said 'that's crazy'. But now, after seeing how colleagues are here, I think it's likely.
"It'll be after the local elections in May because MPs want to hear it from the voters.
"Then the only option is to bring Boris back. He was elected by the members and the public and he's the only one that can stop Starmer from getting a majority. But not even Boris can win us the next election.
"I'll be out in the cold because I stabbed Boris in the back - or at least he sees it that way - I know that; that's the game."/
A realist over here chances are the GE, but deluded beyond belief when mentioning Johnson coming back!
Time to get rid ASAP.
