And why the hell is the Mail referring to somebody with a penis who rapes women as 'her'?

In his most recent Netflix special, Ricky Gervais had a routine about this very scenario, which was hilarious because it was so absurd. Paraphrasing "He raped me", "you mean she raped you", "but he had a penis", "she had a penis you effing bigot". But clearly it wasn't that absurd after all!

It's getting to the point (it may have already reached the point) where having the 'wrong' opinion on transgenderism is now considered heresy by a very vocal minority, to the point that people can be cancelled and in extreme cases be threatened with death.

J K Rowling received the most dreadful of threats for having the bare-faced temerity to say people who menstruate are women. It is an absolutely, completely undeniable biological fact, that only women can menstruate. It is pointless arguing otherwise.

We have the absurd situation that an American swimmer when competing as a man ranked at about 500 against other men, but when competing against women (despite still having the male equipment) he is ranked as 1st - and people defend this absurdity.

Sharon Davies and Navratilova when stating people should compete against their biological sex, they are attacked. Bizarrely, when Caitlin Jenner said the same thing, Jenner was called transphopic...which really is laughable.

Even though untitled doesn't believe me, I repeat that if people feel they can only lead a fulfilling life by doing what they are doing, then bloody good luck to them - it doesn't affect me one jot, but I'm allowed to have the opinion that simply declaring "I'm a lady" doesn't make it so. Untitled doesn't believe me because he wants to feel morally superior.

I started this thread because of the animal who raped women but then declared he was now a woman to hear people's thoughts, and never did I imagine it would get to this number of posts, but my favourite thing about this post is that even though it was apparent to every right-minded person that the piece of scum was trying to con people in thinking he was a woman, Zebu was referring to him as 'she' and 'her' out of "respect and courtesy". I have to say that really did make me laugh.

^^ Why do people bend over backwards to help scum like that?? Why isn't it in solitary confinement somewhere where it can't hurt or intimidate anybody ever again? This proves beyond doubt that not all trans people are genuine and just want to live their lives the best way they can, there is a very sick element that abuse the laws and know they can because most people are scared of rocking the boat! If anyone on here defends this freak or tries to make allowances for it out of 'courtesy' and 'respect', then in my opinion they are very, very severely deluded and there's no hope for them.

I'm not sure this thread and the responses have helped increase tolerance and understanding on this topic, gaps seem to have widened if anything, But its a shame that some contributeors's have for whatever reason chose to go user inactive like ClaretGold and science noob. Jim360 sadly has gone U/I too, may be frustrated at the way the 'discussions' have went

Give Clare a chance and some breathing space, bobbin. It is not easy or straightforward... and AB is so mild and behind the real world, it was a good start.
There are plenty of sites which will be full-on supportive and could well give a bit of a false impression... where AB, tends to be a little more unbiased- in that it's real people, who aren't here for just one reason.

Sometimes the blinkers cause some of our members to get personal and even worse to not listen to others.
It can be frustrating when those members join a thread that could be informative and interesting.
It's not wanting to change minds about something but to share and discuss opinions, differences, beliefs. Discussions rarely happen on AB these days for a number of reasons.
