The Gambling Prime Minister.
Piers Morgan has bet Rishi Sunak the sum of £1,000 that no immigrants will be deported to Rwanda before the Next GE. And Rishi has shaken hands on it. I would have sooner bet Sunak that the Consevatives will lose the Next GE . Would be a safer bet.

Great idea, I have found a very good way to tell if someone believes their own opinion is to offer them a wager. Then you see their true belief in what they are saying. Usually they scurry off because in reality they usually don't believe their own view and are just saying something, anything, to be contrary. Clearly the PM does believe his view in this case, well done.

But bear in mind, this is from a PM who thinks that deporation to Rwanda is a good idea, and a workable solution to the migrant crisis.
So I for one would not take his word for it if he told me that the day of the week had a 'y' in it.

My money's on the handwringers.
Not because they are correct - far from it - but they only have themselves to please.
They don't need to swing like a weathervane in a Force Ten to try and wheedle enough votes to stay in power.
In their scheme of things, they are already in power!
For the Prime Minister to make such a bet is probably a breach of the ministerial code, in that he stands to directly gain financially - dependent on the success of parliamentary legislation.
Not that Tory Prime Ministers’ take much notice of the ministerial code, or any other moral behaviour you might expect from someone.
