It's fair game, Labour still don't know what a woman is.

No matter what surgeries they undergo, nor documentation they may have, sp, a man can never be a woman.Sunak was refering to Starmer's position on the 'Trans' issue and not specifically the murder of Brianna Ghey. Esther Ghey may have been in the Parliamentary estate but she wasn't present in the chamber when he spoke.

Starmer's the fool for taking his ridiculous stance on the issue in the first place.  As someone aspiring to lead the country he deserves to be called out for it.

Mozz - In my opinion, he mocked Starmer for not knowing what a woman is. Nothing to do with trans, nothing to do with Esther Ghey.

^Quite right.

JTH bang on at 13:42, BA.

the "ridiculous stance" naomi and jack refer to is allowing trans people to transition

Question Author

Unless they can open every cell and add or remove a Y chromosome no one can "transition".

He unnecessarily used a dig about Starmer's definition of a woman, which whether intentional or not, concerns the trans community, in the presence of the parent of a murdered trans girl. It's utterly tactless.

Trans people can do all the transitioning they like but a man will never be a woman.

Even Naga Munchetty had to have a go this morning on BBC Breakfast and Chris Mason in an interview on the same programme tried to get Chris Philp and Jeremy Hunt to admit that Rishi Sunak should apologise.Well done to Jeremy Hunt he shut down Chris Mason very quickly.

do you wish for that stance to be reflected in policy jack? i.e. no certificates of gender recognition... perhaps no hormone therapy or reassignment surgery?

If adult human beings want to lop bits off, or add bits on to their bodies I think that it up to them.

No human can transition from one sex to the other and therefore GRC are redundant.

HRT was designed to assist women and they must be first in the queue for it not the men who desire it for their 'feels'.

Trans, straight, cis lgb.... They are all people. Why this obsession with the dictionary definitions of all the labels? There's a real world where sentient beings exist (beings with feelings). If you care about their feelings then that's good. If you don't, then that's sad.

Surely we should be able to live without prodding and needling other people?

Mozz, if you expect even Parliament to dance around perceived sensitivities perhaps you should be complaining about Starmer's ridiculous comments on this issue.   How many has he offended?

- parent of teenager murdered for being trans offended by rishi sunak making fun of trans people

- woman offended by kier starmer saying that trans women count as women

surely even you can see that one of these people has better cause to be offended than the other naomi

Untitled, Rishi Sunak didn't make fun if trans people.  When you and people who think like you fail in you arguments your only recourse appears to be deceit.

Does Rishi Sunak that Brianna Ghey was Esther Ghey's daughter or Esther Ghey's son? Given that Rishi actually calls Brianna "Brianna", at least ...

Sunak was all set to issue an apology but was shafted by Kemi Badenoch, who announced her intention to issue a series of anti-Starmer tweets. Completely negating any impact it might ha e had.

Arguments about trans and penises and whatever are irrelevant in this instance: it's just another titanic-style PR disaster

No, nobody apologises for anything these days. The best (worst?) that you can expect is a non-apology apology:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-apology_apology

The last time I can remember a proper apology from a PM was this:

Untitled at 5.10pm.

Why are you struggling to understand that Sunak was not "...making fun of trans people" - he was pointing out Starmer's u-turns.

It is a very clear and easy to understand distinction, has been pointed out a number of times on this thread, and yet you still choose to lie or deliberately misunderstand, but whichever it is it makes you look daft.

If a modern Alan Turing was transgender, he would be treated just as poorly as the gay Alan Turing in his own time. And maybe, seventy years later, some other future PM will be apologising about it ... hopefully with a proper apology.
