for leaders of hamas in gaza and for two members of israel's government on the suspicion that they have committef war crimes

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cw4490z75v3o

both sides have naturally claimed that only the other should be prosecuted

the ICC prosecutor said:

"No foot soldier, no commander, no civilian leader - no one - can act with impunity." The law, he says, cannot be applied selectively.  If that happens, "we will be creating conditions for its collapse"."

an excellent and principled statement that is very difficult to disagree with. is there hope for the rules-based order yet?

10C:  The "animosity" against the Jews began with Mohammed himself after he ordered order the murder of  800 Jews in Medina, north of Mecca, when he went there to present his message that he was God's prophet, and guess what? they didn't believe him so he had them slaughtered.

The Jews didn't attack anybody and Jesus taught, love to his enemies, while Mohammed said, “slay the unbeliever.”

The Jews have only ever fought back when faced with terrible attacks such as the six day war, when they were being attacked on several fronts and now after the October the 7th atrocities.

The Jews are not a belligerent race, but the Muslim Arabs certainly are.

nope - they get protection

Ahl al-Kitāb, in Islamic thought, those religionists—Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians, as well as the imprecisely defined group referred to as Sabians—who are possessors of divine books (i.e., the Torah, the Gospel, and the Avesta), as distinguished from those whose religions are not based on divine revelations.

please dont lets discuss Islamic thought

They have a thing about kufur - ( atheist and or apostates ) and yes they wantto kill them ( but not today)

you sound like a nazi

The Jews are not a belligerent race,

yes ! no ! I agree I mean. Those naughty gazans have been chucking themselves under tanks ( helluva mess, splat etc) and bombing themselves ( think of Guernica), and REFUSING to eat, when there is more than adequate food - given for free !

untittled - no German - certainly no Germany in the thirties put next to a middle east country

god this thread is showing the miracle of survival - call the Pope!

Can we please dispense with references to Nazis and to Nazi Germany.  This is not World War II and your posts are likely to be removed.

PP, best you don't discuss Islamic thought.  You keep getting wrong.

Do you know anything at all about European and world history? Do you know what the Ottoman Empire was, and how Europe has been (and still is!) under attack from Islam?

The irony of that comment of yours is that the Fuhrer actually admired Islam for it's commitment to a Fascist, expansionist ideology.

"races" do not have innate personality traits and the idea that they do is racism 101. there are people who possess power and weapons and people who don't. those that do are all as capable of aggression and atrocity as each other.

i stand by what i wrote and i will not be "dispensing" with it just because it annoys you naomi... it is within the rules.

Togo at 10.55 and Khandro.

The passage is indeed from the Times newspaper. It is from a Comment piece written by Melanie Phillips, who also writes for the Jerusalem Post and Jewish Chronicle, so perhaps should be read as not necessarily being a totally impartial take on the subject.

I haven't asked you because it annoys me, untitled.  I've asked you because it is not within the rules to insult people.  You have been asked politely but that doesn't seem to work so be aware that any further examples from you will be removed either by me or by someone else and if you continue you will be suspended.

the rules also forbid posting material that "discriminates on grounds of race" by the way

Question Author

that times article was written by an israeli propagandist. the data about trucks comes from the israeli government who are exactly the people accused of impeding aid destined for gaza. the assertions made about attacks on people trying to get food being terrorists is completely unevidenced.

So, it sounds as though what you are saying is, that Phillips is Jewish and is therefor wrong; are you?

yes O great one ! I adore your views

I note the deletion decoration and general improvement has started - I consider the flow of the thread GREATLY improved

can we be perhaps deletion-light this afternoon ? Just a thought-ette

Melanie Phillips?  she is allowed to be partisan - in a newspaper. Is the pope a roman catholic?

Along with Daniel Finklestein -  do you really expect them to say " god those poor Gazans the IDF are really kicking the crap out of them this week" - wait on dear reader!

Peter Pedant - you have been asked on more than one occasion to stop commenting on removed posts -

yes ! The Israeli demands go MUCH further back than just the British Mandate in Palestine - 1917-48) -but miss, can we mention Balfour or will that mean instant and ruthless deletion as well? - I go for consistency and justice
