do people really need to make this about migration? it seems that some people were positively salivating at the chance to blame a migrant for something horrific and leaped on misinformation that he was an asylum seeker 

is this really the right way to react to an event like this? is your priority really to find the shortest possible route to confirming your prejudices?

everybody says "for legal reasons" but i don't understand what those reasons are... does anybody understand what the law is regarding this?

Everyone can seriously argue against capital punishment regardless of the circumstances. Either your society respects moral issues or it is happy to descend to the level of their worst example.
