//And yet many muslims simply ignore the parts of the koran....//
What you fail to understand, untitled, is that Islamic literature (Muslims don't abide solely by the Koran) provides for every eventuality, and everything they do - from the best to the worst - can, from their literature, be justified in one way or another. Islam is not simply a religion - it is a complete way of life. You mention women's rights, but whilst Muslim men are counselled to respect women (Muslim women that is), they are also advised to shut their disobedient females away and in some instances even to kill them - but who's to say if women are disobedient? Men - and men rule. Sharia dictates that women are the lesser creatures - always. Check out the rules that dictate divorce in a Sharia court.
Muslims may lie and deceive - it's allowed if they deem circumstances appropriate - they can even eat what they like if it serves their purpose. And don't forget the penalties for apostasy are severe - unthinkably ghastly - unless that apostasy is a ploy to deceive and surreptitiously further the cause of Islam. Mohammed (the author of the Koran) was an extremely clever man, he really was. Like many, you make the grave mistake of endowing the followers of Islam with a similar mindset to your own but complacency and ignorance will be the West's downfall.
This is what Churchill said about Islam:
How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities thousands have become brave and loyal soldiers of the queen: all know how to die: but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science - the science against which it had vainly struggled - the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.
Untitled //if islamic literature allows justification for literally any course of action (good or bad) then surely that is just more evidence that the religion is more flexible than you say it is? i.e. muslims will use the literature to justify what they want to do, just like adherents to other religions do. //
Allowing "justification for literally any course of action", is exactly what it doesn't do- it doesn't accept you as anything but an infidel, not to mention Jews, Christians, Hindus & everyone else who isn't a Muslim.
Go and read the Koran; you're making a fool of yourself here.
well what naomi said was "Islamic literature (Muslims don't abide solely by the Koran) provides for every eventuality, and everything they do - from the best to the worst - can, from their literature, be justified in one way or another. "
it seems to me that if it can be used to justify anything that muslims do then it would seem to give far more leeway to the justifications muslims choose to make... in other words quite consistent with what i have been saying
Britain?
Criticise Islam in Europe (even if you are attacked by an islamist) you will be punshished.
I'm sure ABers will remember this attack.

I think the reason Noah is so popular at present is because of the forthcoming climate change catastrophe in 20-30 years, when one of those Noahs will be of age and able to lead people following The Great Flood at that time in the future.
And guess what ... crap though that previous sentence was, it's not the biggest load of crap in this thread.
Rubbish! 'Islam is the second-largest religion in the United Kingdom, with results from the 2021 Census recording just under four million Muslims, or 6.0% of the total population in the United Kingdom. London has the largest population and greatest proportion (15%) of Muslims in the country.

er I think he features in both books
Nax137 you are entitled to your opinion
er If PP says no one's opinion is correct then PP's opinion is also not correct - and so it is therefore valid (correct) ( see Godel). It cant be both. Not really AB fare - see Godel again
^^Sorry about that. I'd written loads and it disappeared.
Untitled at 10.38... no Islam has not changed. By the way, and to my personal knowledge, Sharia Law is alive and working in the Uk and certainly has been since the early 1980s (the earliest for which I can vouch). The police found it was the easiest way to let a lot of problems be sorted out - all the 'must be respectful of culture' stuff. If people move here they should be respectful of OUR culture i.m.o..
I taught in Bradford & Halifax and around that area. I know the sort of things that went on. Things that our systems simply couldn't cope with and which were therefore relegated/ignored.
How about a girl 15/16 (been a huge loud-mouth and pain in class t.b.h.) who took her last GCSE and then disappeared? She returned for the last assembly of term - accompanied by 2 large, male, 'cousins' - - who didn't seem to speak much English. I managed a word with her, as did some others. She had not been allowed out of the house since the last compulsory day at school. I could tell you of others - like the 14 yr. old ESN girl sent off to Pakistan to marry a 40 yr old cousin.
Islam does not change. Girls told me that any change would come through the women and that is why they were restricted.
I would put 1 hand on my heart and the other on a copy of the Bible and swear to this. Islam was tighter here than in Pakistan at one point regarding art work.
Islamification is THE huge threat.
