Bush must be stopped.
George Bush and his cronies have been talking up a war with Iran ever since they invaded Iraq and now it seems thay're gearing up to move in for the kill. Again as with Iraq, there is little to no evidence to back up their claims for this invasion. Also as with Iraq, if they go ahead with the invasion of Iran there will probably be hundreds of thousands of innocent people killed. This American administration is made up of a bunch of religiosly intolerent crusaders with a messed up power hungry money driven agenda. I don't think we as a society can sit back and watch this time as they go in and destroy another country. What can be done to stop this warmonger?

He is eccentric, certainly, and his government is extremely secretive and brutal to dissidents, but experts say Kim is bright, clear-headed, politically astute, and as sane as any leader with unchecked power. He drives trendy Mazdas, and prefers Hennessey cognac. He wears elevator shoes to hide his short stature (without the shoes, he is believed to stand about 5' 2"). His father was Kim Il Sung, the cruel Communist dictator who ruled North Korea for decades.
As a young man, Kim held wild parties, and was widely derided as the Korean Hugh Hefner. Many Koreans assumed that he would never be disciplined enough to lead his nation. But Kim studied political science at the university named for his father, rising rapidly through Communist Party ranks, and none dare call it nepotism. He was designated his father's official successor in 1974, and took power upon the elder Kim's death in 1994.
Kim has announced that North Korea has nuclear weapons, and most observers believe this to be true. He had about 80 high-ranking officials, including several relatives and his own brother-in-law, rounded up and purged in 2004. He still favors banquets that start at midnight and end at dawn. At one such event, according to his chef's memoirs, Kim ordered the dancing women to strip. They wisely did not object.
He is a big movie buff, and owns videos of at least 20,000 films. His favorites reportedly include the Rambo, Friday the 13th, and James Bond movies. Kim is a moviemaker himself, the credited producer of Pulgasari, a 1985 Godzillaesque story based on a 14th-Century Korean legend about a monster who helps peasants overthrow their dictatorial king. Kim abducted South Korean director Shin Sang-Ok and actress Choe Un-Hee, and forced them to make the movie. They escaped several years later, when Kim allowed them to attend a film festival in Vienna.

andrea, I believe you can and should do just that - get in pre-emptively before any real trouble starts. Also, even if the Gulf Wars were really about oil - again so what ? We need oil to keep all our cars and aircraft-carriers and central heating going. I would happily support intervention on even the flimsiest of excuses to maintain this supply rather than allow a whole load of fanatical wallahs to cut it off.
Hopefully one day our energy needs will be independent of oil, then we could seal up the entire Middle East with barbed wire (excluding Israel, just about the only civilised country in the region) and let them get on with slaughtering each other.

Hmmm, there are a lot of countries on the axis of evil, they all need sorting out one at a time.
Its no good trying to pretend that if we left them alone they wont attack us. Their sole aim is to rid the world of infidels.
If we dont stand up to countries like Iran, Iraq etc, then they will just try to impel their idioligy on any neighbouring country. These rogue countries can only be dealt with by force.
If there is time after the UN have dealt with the 'axis of evil' then i am sure they will sort africa out...

Just to stir things up a bit:
Wasn't the IRA sponsored by the Yanks?
Since that country sponsored terrorism, why are they are allies? After all, there have been several hundred deaths (some civilian) caused by the IRA.

Oh and Whiffey, maybe you should think about the amount of British people killed by the IRA before you think how great the US are - and possibly all those killed by 'friendly fire' now that the US are refusing to attend any future inquests.

I always thought the USA was a beacon of democracy. So how come 70% of Americans wish to withdraw from Iraq and even the politicians want an end to it he still ploughs on regardless and now threatens to bomb Iran to smithereens...no troops involved this time. It seems more like a dictatorship to me as he seems answerable to no-one.
