Should these two face prosecution and even banned from the BBC?
If these calls had been to an ethnic it would have been classed racist, and their feet would have not touched the floor.
I know before any wit makes the remark that Manuel is an ethnic (Spanish), it was only the part he played.

It's political correctness gone mad.
You can't say anything these days without leftie do-gooders telling you it's offensive. You make a few jokes about bending an old man's granddaughter over the back of the couch and having sex with her and suddenly the PC birgade tell you it's not on.
This country and has gone to the dogs. What happened to the great British sense of humour?
Oh, hang on. I'm confused...

sorry I forgot something...andy re your point about her profile page on Bebo etc. The girl herself describes herself as a sl ut, she might very well not be, but you can hardly blame people for assuming she's what she says she is and finding humour in it.
For the record, I didn't like what Brand and Ross did, horrible thing to do to an aged gentleman (Sachs), but I don't feel any sympathy towards the girl in question.

i think people are making a fuss because they are sick of Ross being paid an enormous amount of money to say whatever he likes about who he likes.
It's time he was told to button it.
As for Brand, he is annoying because he appears to have deemed himself as someone also able to get away with anything he likes.
Ross has been annoying me for a couple of years, I don't know why he thinks he's a comedian - he isn't and never has been. Any laughs he gets on his tv show are always at someone's expense and usually crude.
He has said some awful things on his radio 2 show (which I stopped listening to ages ago). He once made a joke about those poor people who died in the back of that lorry. I couldn't believe he'd got away with it.
I can't understand why someone like Angus Deaton got the sack for something he did in his own time, away from his work, and yet these two get away with this.
Having said that, the producers should be severely reprimanded too.
If he gets away with it, Ross will no doubt be making jokes about it all soon enough. He really will be unbearable (literally!)

I thought it was a digusting thing to say/do crank calls are for pubescant teenagers, these are middle aged men!
It must have been unpleasant to hear that on the answerphone and the attempt at an apology just made them look even more purile and disingenuous, BUT.
I saw the grand-daughter in the paper today and she's no shrinking violet herself, so I'm not inclined to care much now.

Back again Boo - as I said, the lady can describe herself in any way she likes - that does not entitle the BBC to riddicule her on national radio as a sideline of upsetting her grandfather - and that is where my point is coming from.
I think responsibility lies fairly and squarly with the Controller of Radio 2, and the DG of the BBC who have both been noticeable silent thus far. Shame on them.

I stick to my previous posts on here & on another thread.
What Andrew Sach's Granddaughter does in her private or working life is her own business & it should be up to her & her Grandad to deal with the matter in 'their' own way, privately.
The fact remains that the ever rude, immature & talentless Ross & Brand, left cruel, lewd & unnecessary messages on Sach's answerphone for the license paying public to hear.
They should be dealt with by the top knobs at the BBC & I hope severely, although I doubt that very much! They'll probably both 'laugh' their way out of it - they seem to be good at that!
