Who are these people complaining about what Prince Harry said in the video?
**** is just short for for a person from Pakistan the same as Brit is short for a person from Britain and nobody gets pulled up for saying that!
Rag head!!!!!!!! Come on this is a term for people Killing our soldiers, Who cares if we affend them and soldiers have always had nick names for the ones they were fighting.
And swearing how dare he!!
What Planet are these people off?
This is the mallenium, people swear all the time.
I defy any one who says they would'nt swear while in a war zone and constantly looking over their shoulder.

The word is offensive because ignorant people use it for anybody of Asian appearance, whether they are from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh or any other country; it is also used in a derogatory manner as a form of contempt when the person concerned does not come from any of those countries and was born in the UK, but one or both parents are of Asian origin or descent.

Truthfully, can you tell by looking which country a person is from? I wouldn't know an Englishman from a Welshman from a Frenchman by sight.
The online version of Chambers Dictionary says of the P-word, "offensive Brit slang a a Pakistani; b loosely someone from any part of the Indian subcontinent. Also as adj.
ETYMOLOGY: 1960s"

As for the word "Brit," do you think it is used as a term of endearment when the phrase "Brits out!" is used in Ulster?

"Rag head!!!!!!!! Come on this is a term for people Killing our soldiers" no, it is an offensive term used to describe folk who are NOT killing soldiers, they just happen to wear a turban. It is also used to describe Muslims whether they wear a turban or no.

It is NOT about swearing, it's about using offensive, racist language.
stensonlad, I agree with you entirely, the reaction to these remarks is way over the top. The PC brigade will not be happy until British people are frightened to say anything.
Absolutely 100% agree with you stensonlad!!
Apparently this video was made three years ago. Have the papers nothing to report this morning!!!

I personally think it is an over reaction but can see why the media have picked up on it. As Lottie says you'd think there would be other more important topics to focus on.
Hi Lottie! x

It's not about British folk being frightened to say anything, it's about not using racist language.
It is worrying in that harry appears not to have learnt any lessons from the Nazi incident. He was being filmed and taped - did he not say to himself, I better watch what I say here. No, he was showing off playing to his audience. He is very immature and should not have charge of soldiers ever again.
Lynn, Harry's video was made either before or at the same time as the Nazi incident which took place in January 2005! Three years on and he probably is more mature. What a lot of fuss about nothing!!!!

Morning Yoga :o)
Also, Harry was a trainee at the time.
Sorry 2006

"The video, shot in 2006, also shows the Prince joking about his grandmother the Queen - who is Commander in Chief of the British Army - in front of other cadets."

ETHEL,
I am friends with a lot of Asian people and even they think this is PC gone mad. Most Asians you speak to who are born in this country (BRITS) class them selves as Asian, not British and they will even tell you that a lot of people of Asian origin are even more racist than any Brit!
I'm English but I don't Kick up a fuss every time someone in the media pools me together with the Scottish and the Welsh,i'm comfortable With my identerty!
He wore the Nazi uniform in January 2005 and the racist language was used in 2006, so he's not learnt his lesson, has he?

By the way Harry knew the said soldier was from Pakistan!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for spelling mistake (IDENTITY)
That may be so, but Indians and Bangladeshis don't call themselves Pakistanis - they are different countries.

People don't swear all the time - I never do. And Scottish and Welsh people certainly don't like being called English.

You seem to be confusing Asian and Pakistani.
Pakistan is in Southern Asia, bordering the Arabian Sea, between India on the east and Iran and Afghanistan on the west and China in the north
And millennium, wouldn't, offend, if you are identifying your spelling mistakes.

By the way, British does include the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish.
Why do we persecute our Royal Family? when he is a dad with children will someone run him off the road and kill him just to get a closer look at who he is shagging ????
He may be the sainted Diana's second son and a Prince of the Realm but come the bottom line he's just a yob with a soooooooper accent & I'm sure his Grandma loves him:)
