What an horrific story! There is no place for such 'honour' attacks in this country and I hope the police catch the medieval minded cowards soon.
Jeez! Poor bloke,it doesn't sound like he will survive this from what the report said.
Hope the criminals experience 'life' behind bars!

Is it an eye for an eye in the Koran? Acid down criminals throats would be good!
Once you have swallowed some Sulphuric Acid it is highly unlikely you will survive.

Hey R1, you'll soon get all the right on liberals at your door calling you a racist.

Come on now you know noo labour say we should embrace them, its their culture.

Dont expect much justice.

yes YMB I guess it's a taster of what to expect when Sharia law takes over. Presumably there'll be state run centres for acid pouring followed by stoning of the woman who dared to asscociate with someone not on the approved list. Still apparently you can have more than one w1fe!

They call it Karo Kari, it is us that have labelled it the Oxymoron Honour Killing.

Though it is a custom practiced in some Islamic countries, it is not exclusively Muslim and crosses cultures and religions.

It is a very extreme form of control usually to subjugate women. It cannot be condoned, and there have been several successful prosecutions in this country. Hopefully, they will get this people who did this.

There is nothing in the Qur'an that instructs this practice. It is more cultural than religious. To the vast majority of muslims it is as abhorrent as it is to us.
Check out those other 6 honour killing cases at the bottom of R1's link.

It makes me sick when we are forever being told, that we should consider ourselves lucky to be in a country of such a rich cultural mix, and we should embrace all other cultures.

I say if they are not prepared to embrace the culture of the country they chose to live in, then they should exit this country post haste, because there is no place in our country for their medieval lifestyle.

So obviously the local, "abhored" muslims in this area can be relied on to inform on the purpetrators and give the police statements, attend as prosecution witnesess, etc then eh Gromit? dream on!
The two suspects, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were due to face Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court this afternoon after being charged with attempted murder yesterday, Scotland Yard said.

Police have arrested seven young men in total in relation to the enquiry. Five have been freed on bail.

Honour killings have been recorded among Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and Christian communities.

There appears to be several witnesses, so hopefully a successful prosecution will follow soon.
I hope to see similar condemnations here of British soldiers torturing Iraqi civillians.

Or would you like to wait for the outcome of the investigation before commenting?

Like you're waiting for the verdict in this case?

Oh no you're not though are you?
peggy taken from your link

Five of the Iraqi men say they were threatened with violence, thrown against walls, struck by guards and denied water by British troops

Defense officials say there is no evidence that any civilian was mistreated by British troops.

sounds just like the police from up north

get with the program jake, yes out of order, wrong, illegal, should be punished yes all those things. The main thing is though those crimes where not committed because a woman associated with someone they shouldn't. You really need to focus away from your standard anti Britsh propaganda.
I'm not taking any side on either case British or anti-British - you're the one pinning that label on me!

I'm just using it to point out your double standards

Jumping to judgement half way through a trial when it's "another belter from the religion of peace"

And giving soldiers the benefit of the doubt

Your prejudice is quite shocking

Question Author
sorry should have said... if they did it then it's out of order etc...
Or even better wait for the verdict

I know it's just so old fashioned of me
Question Author
right so he accidently bought some acid drain cleaner and drank it did he? I mean the packaging is so easy to confuse with a can of sprite after all! Or are the doctors and nurses lying about his injuries because they are islamaphobic. Double standards? no I'm just aware of these sort of standard muslim activities.
peggy if the british troops had poured Sulphuric Acid in their eyes and down their throats i would want them to be treated the same as the nutters in london

Wishing not to get another BGB, can you see any similarities with this story?

A Catholic community worker was beaten to death by men shouting that they were members of the Ulster Defence Association, his widow said today.

Evelyn McDaid, a Protestant who suffered serious head injuries when she tried to save her husband Kevin, spoke as police questioned nine men over the killing.

UDA, they called themselves the UDA. I went across to help him and they beat me while they beat him, she said.

My neighbour had to step in to save me and she was pregnant and they beat her too and she shouted Im pregnant and they didnt care.
