Does one feel sorry for this hypocrite who shed crocodile tears over the death of his baby daughter.

Normally I would say yes for a person in these circumstances, but in his case, not one bit.

This is the man who sends young men & women to their deaths almost on a daily basis, without showing the same emotion.

Sorry. Meant I agree with you, oneeyedvic
I feel very sorry that Gordon & Sarah Brown's first baby Jennifer died, along with many other parents who go through the same heartache & emotions - and as did a very close friend of mine, three times..

However, the interview on the Piers Morgan show, is very good timing & no doubt will pull at the heartstrings of gullible people, to leave them thinking that he's a thoroughly nice bloke & is a good Prime Minister - but I don't share their views.

It would appear, that perhaps I worded my question wrongly, and it obviously sounded all wrong to some, for which I apologise for.

I mistakenly thought that my middle paragraph, explained where I was coming from.

What I meant to say was that Brown is a hypocrite because, he can shed a tear of emotion over his own on national television, yet can stand up at PMQT most weeks, and announce the deaths of others, (for which he is personally responsible for).with no emotion whatsoever, after all they are someone's children also.

But this did not stop the usual rude and offensive individuals from spitting out their usual bile, to those they disagree with. So for the record this apology is not aimed at them, but to other more balanced persons, who might have read into my question something that wasn't intended.
Well done AOG - you have upped your game.

You are predictable with your racist and sexist posts and no one much bothers with those anymore, so we have a new tac from you.

You have done the almost impossible, and made Brown the object of our sympathy.
'You have done the almost impossible, and made Brown the object of our sympathy'.

Not necessarily Gromit, we're not all that gullible.

Brilliant is that really a promise?

It's a start, perhaps you and others will also consider not answering anyone else's, only the one's of offensive individuals such as you.

Or are you all one of the same? Because their can't be many such as you.
"many such as you"

Is that how talk in real life? Or are you trying to sound clever?
As much as I don't like his politics and don't rate his as a PM, I don't dislike Brown. He seemed perfectly genuine when getting upset about his daughter. I would put more trust in Brown (as a person) than I would the Slimy Cameron. Give the bloke a break. He's a human being. He was talking about his personal life at this point, why should be be considering those lost in Iraq etc.
I wouldn't doubt for one minute losing a baby caused Gordon Brown enormous distress.
However it's the timing and necessity of it that gets my goat.
Politicians have made us all a cynical lot through their shady antics.
If he had wanted to talk about his tragic loss why not wait until he was no longer in office so there was no apparent motive to talk about it then.
I bet SP1814 is annoyed at being missed off the list.....

:)

Well done for apologising and clarifying your point.

Sending people who have made a decision to join the army off to war is pretty different from the loss of a child due to cystic fibrosis.

There have also been less than 300 deaths in 9 years (an average of 30 deaths a year) - that is a pretty 'clean' war by anyone's standards.

Out of curiosity, were you on the anti War marches?
Brown is as human as the rest of us. It must be a dreadful thing to lose an infant child, or a child of any age.
How can you know he shed 'crocodile tears'?
I think it has more to do with the timing Lottie.

We all feel very sorry for 'anyone' who has lost babies or children & I didn't agree with AOG's comments about 'crocodile tears' from Brown.
I agree with you mightyWBA.
a prime minister is not 'personally responsible' for every soldier who dies in a conflict begun by his predecessor, any more than he is personally responsible for people dying on the roads, for heavy snowfalls, or for the rubbish on TV.

It doesn't surprise me that you find anyone who disagrees with your views 'offensive' but if you're that offended, why don't you emigrate to another website?
Poor old Brown can't do anything right. He is no different from any other politician, but his problem is he can't do 'popularity'. He just isn't charismatic in any way.
If he can't do 'popularity' why go on the programme in the first place?

As mighty WBA says - why not wait until a later date to talk about his personal life?

/// Is that how talk in real life? /// Or are you just poorly educated?
BTW - timing - this would apply to any politician, not just Brown....
My question has been removed (I reported it myself) and I just wanted to reiterate my apology to AOG - it was a question written in anger which I regret.
