Could this common sense approach be the answer to what must be one of the biggest infringements of a person's civil liberties?

I am not a smoker, may I add?.

I think obesity is the main excess that means that parents might outlive their kids. Overeating and lack of exercise is certainly more prevalent these days across the board.
And the excessive drinking and drug taking and knife culture may have something to do with it too!
Just saying Sooper, that it's only the minority.

Drinking and smoking was far more acceptable across the board back in the sixties, early seventies. We weren't even warned of the dangers and parents were far more likely to be smoking at home and children just found it normal. There was no stigma attached.
And knife crime isn't across the board either! ;o).
Im sorry but i think we will have to agree to disagree on todays youth! I know what i see, not what is reported in the media. Perhaps we live in totally different areas where things are different?
I haven't seen any knife crime sooper!! I have seen groups of kids drinking and smoking, but I know far, far more that don't.

I must admit I don't live in an area where crime is rife, but we do have young people and the ones I see smoking a drinking cannot be said to represent the majority. Yes, perhaps it is different where you live.
If I had known of the effects of smoking in the 60's I would never have started smoking, and I'm extremely pleased that my daughter does not smoke. Perhaps they should just let pensioners smoke in pubs :-)
Would you agree with me Craft that more young people smoked in the 60's then. I never did, but loads of my mates did and I thought nothing of it. Smoking was rife in my opinion.
