Khandro at my last job i was there just over 28 years and when not in work would be sat in pub or club with friends.
the last club i went in is shut, the pub down the road is now flats and shops
some or all of the people i used to drink with no longer go out to pubs because of the smoking ban

i have spoken to people on the phone there answer is no point can't be bothered whats the point

what is the point of getting a taxi to have a drink outside ?

They discussed this last night on the radio.

One caller phoned in to say that his local landlord once put a sign up outside his beer garden, one very hot summers night, and it read, "SMOKERS ONLY, but please feel free to join the non smokers inside".

Dr, I meant my previous post to sound sympathetic, not critical. I agree, the English drinking classes have arrived at a sorry state. It's not too late to move abroad, I hope.
