What is random?

On a TV sketch show I heard the word "random" being used as a description of something "cool" or "wicked" or various other current slang i.e. good. My grand-daughter had been using random in that way and I thought it was just her getting it wrong and explained the proper meaning. Maybe if fact, she was using current usage - can any of you youngsters explain what you take it to mean.
