The Club is now Open.

Welcome once again to the hallowed portals of our club.

Tailcocks and nibbles will doubtless be available soon, but whether the butler will appear to deal with the wraps is in the lap of the Gods.

So far tonight's raffle prizes include:

Half a bottle of Emva Cream Sherry
Two pairs of bedsocks, one pair green and blue, the other blue and green
A hot water bottle cover in the shape of a pink pig

Wonderful again, DT.

Your contributions are filling the library.
Quite marvellous, sir!
Superb and added to the annals for future generations to read and learn of the wisdom that abounds.
Tailcocks, tailcocks! Get 'em while you're basking in ode-ly delight, they're lovely!
Question Author
So good of you, Mamya....I only hope the generations to come appreciate your work...and of course DT's genius....
Very good DT. Most of the poems I compose begin with " there was a young lady from...."
Steak pie anyone, hot from the Aga?? I think I may partake of a tailcock now.
Question Author
I'm sure DT has quite a few like that in him too.....

Any news of the iceberg yet, PB ?
Here's my contribution to the poetry section

There once was a Lie in King
To AB a lot he did bring
He's THE crossword star
The best by far
He's simply a clever old thing
Question Author
What a lot of talent here tonight...I'm so impressed...

Do sit down and have a bit of a rest, Mamya...let the butler do his bit this week.
Why, Miss...Mrs overall - I've come over all unnecessary & shall have to join you in a flagon of Viking Vimto
Question Author
Not too much Vimto, LIK, you've work to do to make up for last week.
The iceberg is fine milady. Thanks for asking. I believe it is the only one left in Kent.
I'd offer to sing, but last time I aired the tonsils after a few creme de menths the butler showed me the door....and a flight of stone stairs....a hard brick wall and finally the wheelie bins
Question Author
Well, that is good news, PB. Re-united with your family after all these years, you must be delighted.
Hope you're taking those White Star people for all they've got.
There was a polar bear so benighted
He never knew when he was slighted;
He would go to a party
and eat as just as heartily
As if he had been really invited.
Question Author
Encore, DT, encore!

Mrs Overall...surely the butler you refer to was not in the employ of this establishment ?
May I ask an impertinent question here?

DT = are you a Daily Telegraph crossword fan, or

are you simply a crossword fan who likes a drink or several....and has the DT's?
To DTC the words come easy,
the rhythm and rhyme just flow.
The lyrics scan and yes the man
is trés poetic you know.
Most certainly not, m'lady!

(really, scurrilous accusations, butler-napping...)

Tailcocks, tailcocks! Get 'em before they start to melt the flagons, they're lovely!
