Quirky quiz questions

I'm trying desperately to finish a quiz for tomorrow. It's made up of deliberately unusual, quirky and downright trick questions, grouped into pairs by subject. A couple of examples would be:

"In 1972, who released an album entitled "Dark Side of the Moon?"
Medicine Head - the Pink Floyd album of the same name was released in 1973.

"In the Ancient Roman army, how many soldiers were commanded by a centurion?"
80 - the word "centurion" has nothing to do with 100.

I'm presently looking for a pair for this question:
"Who played the title character in the 1981 Bill Forsyth film Gregory's Girl?"
Claire Grogan - although Dee Hepburn played the female lead, her character was never Gregory's girlfriend.

I.e. a film where the title character isn't who most people think it is.

Or, if anyone knows any other quirky quiz questions, I'd be grateful.

Bit of a stretch for a "pair", Mark, but this is one I put in a quiz once.............

1 What was introduced in 1969, that resulted in a dramatic decline in the UK suicide rate.

2 What was introduced in 1993 that also reduced the rate considerably.

Just for fun, perhaps you'd like to think about them before I give you the answaers.

Who played Frankenstein in the 1931 film?
Answer, Colin Clive. Boris Karloff played the monster.
Is that he sort thing you're after Mark?
Question Author
Yes, that's the sort of thing! Thanks.
Not film related but it's fooled a few:
If you travel due south from Detroit, USA, what is the first country you come to?
Canada

May be obvious to seasoned quizzers though.

That one's fairly well known, WyeDyed, but perfect for this particular quiz - it's just a bit of fun and won't figure in the rankings. Do you have a similar question to make up a pair?
I'll see what I can dig up but I'm at work at the moment...
You`ll probably think this is crap as a pair for your Gregory`s Girl one but you could ask - Who hosted Abigail`s Party? Everyone will think it was Bev (the Alison Stedman character) but Abigail was the unseen daughter of one of Bev`s guests and her party was not featured.
Question Author
That's not bad, actually.

Got a pair for the Detroit one:

"If you travel due South from Genoa, Italy, which country do you reach first?"
France (Corsica).

2 Catalytic converters on cars ............. (rubber hose up the exhaust pipe etc)
Question Author
Fab! Thanks a million.
Ha, sorry for the premature key pressing :o(

Thanks Mark. Glad you like it.
What good thing came about in 1928?
Sliced bread, as in something being the best thing since ...
Sorry. Meant to cancel, as I didn't have a pairing question.
Question Author
Anything always welcome, Jack...

Question Author
