Do they still do Nuvan staykill? That was brilliant stuff.
lol Kit, are they making talking an Olympic sport in 2012? I'll get some practise in.
I'll give ya silly ole biddy, the webcam was covered in huge raindrops when I posted it, it was quite funny
omg, they've just been & banged a for sale board up next door! No more peace 'n quiet

agree with Lottie about daughter, let her pay for her own life. A good deal of my life's savings has been sunk into jno jnr's flat but I will get it back, he is drawing up financial plans. Actually, I probably won't take it as setting children up in their own home is a parent's duty nowadays when they have houses worth a fortune without having done anything to deserve it while kids struggle to get a foot on the ladder. But no way am I paying for his holidays.
I would add that Master LL and his partner live in my Mum's old house and he is taking on the enormous financial responsibility of bringing it up to scratch. It will take years and years.
We actually rebuilt our house ourselves. The only outside help was from a roofer. Never again!! I never want to be a builder's labourer ever, ever again!! Demolition of walls, digging up floors, etc. Whatever was I thinking of!!

I know, Lottie, jno jnr is still working on renovation and it's been a year since he bought the place and still hasn't moved in. But he's spending half of his spare time on it (other half is gf) and the results are great - it was a dump, now it's looking really nice.
I remember our first house, cleaned us out - we were living on mince for weeks.

there, I've just done an emergency de-clutter...that should keep all prospective buyers at bay for a while

Ah no, not all my jewellry, some of it was daughter's ás my Father-in-law spoiled us with diamond and ruby etc earrings and gold chains and rings so some of it is hers, but it's not our type of thing, and I still have enough if I want to dress up. Have kept several pieces inc engagement (or investment ring as Mr N puts it) my 24c wedding ring and a few other things, didn't realise how much I had. Am leaning towards Sky HD at mo!!
I have quite a few inherited rings and things Neti that I am never likely to wear - not my sort of thing either. I don't even have a wedding ring and never did have an engagement ring. I also have a very heavy old gold fob watch chain. I am seriously considering selling everything. I have no daughters to inherit from me. Would it be dreadful to sell my grandmothers and mothers engagement rings with their diamonds and rubies. They are just laying there in a draw. I probably would feel guilty at selling them, but when I am gone they will be discarded anyway.
Hello lovely folks
Thanks ever so for all your kind thoughts. Mr S has bowel cancer .However he's in good hands so I must stay positive . I haven't been about because I needed to get my head round this . It hit me like a runaway train and I've been a bit upset to say the least .
I don't want to lose my lovely husband .We've had our ups and downs like most people but I can't imagine being without him .He's being his usual stoical Teutonic self while I quietly go to pieces .
Anyway they want to gaze into his nether regions again on Wednesday and we'll just have to take it one day at a time .
Thank you all so much for being here for me .I feel a bit better now and able to join in again .
Lots of love to you all and a special pat for Charlie . Hope he'll be Ok Robinia :)

Shaney, what can I say? I'm so sorry it's such awful news, it'll be a tough journey for both of you but stay strong & positive, people can & do beat it. Take good care of yourself, as you say it's one day at a time, you'll get there. xxx Keep looking in.
woofy Charlie's much brighter & livelier thanks. He's chased off the flock of pigeons & yesterday he couldn't have cared less, but his rice lunch has hurried through so I suppose it'll be a day or two before he settles down.
