I found the exact opposite -- for me it felt a harder set than usual, at least some of the time. Just the way the questions go I guess.
No. Courtauld got science questions

Not sure why you've mentioned science questions specifically, calmck.
With the two teams last night studying history of art and economics, the science questions were always going to be tumbleweed moments. No trans contestants, though, unlike last week.
As far as you know Brainiac.
Always obvious, at least on UC!
"...the science questions were always going to be tumbleweed moments" - apart from those that were answered correctly - naphthalene & -1 spring to mind, eg.

"No trans contestants, though, unlike last week" - so what?
Given the low scores of both teams...no, not dumbed-down at all.
I agree with Jim on this one. I can usually answer quite a few of the questions but, for a large part of the show, JP may as well have been speaking Chinese for all the sense he made to me:-// And my grey cells were well tuned up by correctly answering many of the links on Only Connect.
I seem to remember JP remarking about the science question jokingly
I usually get a few points but last night , even fewer. I don't think it was dumbed down.
To be honest I think both teams were slightly dumbed down.

Having said which my own performance was abysmal: five starters, few bonuses and three penalties.

You could say that. I must start recording my scores.
How to make a teapot stand did not come up.

^Just as well. I'd have been pushed for an answer. A ceramic tile from B&Q? But then I wouldn't have made that. Nah.... pass.
Two uses for empty wine bottles?

A teapot stand from a wine bottle? That's innovative!!
Come on Naomi. We have known each other since 2006.
You know what I am capable of.
Last week's teams were quite good except when it came to Navan. lol,
I got 11.
Yes, they were dumbed down....
