Many of us have a particularly favourite spot for a picnic that we love especially. We found such a spot quite by accident, but once discovered you become territorial and secretive. You may well understand why once you find your own little Garden of Eden -- it becomes too precious to become generally known lest it loses its magical solitude!
Several years ago, after parking the car we walked down into a long valley. It was sheltered on both sides by steep hills and consequently was surprisingly cool in the summer. At the far end of the valley, we found a waterfall, apparently bursting straight out of solid rock, only to cascade down into a small pool, escape down to a creek and trickle out of sight! If you sit quietly, the little birds will come back theyre only hiding in the blackberry and scrub on either side -- and you will see the fairy wrens, the tiny robins, the tree creepers and sometimes the greenfinches. Oh so tranquil!
