MM Links July 2009 [Week 3]
49 Answers
Good Morning all and welcome to my third week as Queen Julia of the Links. I can't believe we are half way through July already. Where has the summer gone? Two weeks and we are into August. On the farm that backs onto us, they are preparing to reap the crops. So we will have lots of dust flying about for a few weeks now. Although most of it is rapeseed this year and I don't think that is quite as bad as when it is wheat or corn.
This weekend we are baby-sitting for our grandson properly for the first time. We have had him for a couple of hours while they went shopping, but as she was breast-feeding she couldn't leave him for too long. Now that he is weaned, this weekend they are going to the theatre, so we will have him for the whole evening. I'm looking forward to it. As they live in London, we will be catching a train up there on Saturday morning (after I've posted the LINKS of course) staying overnight and back on Sunday afternoon.

I can remember Jim and I sitting in my parents front room (we werent married then) watching it on TV. We were mesmerised, frightened to move away from the screen in case we missed something. Jim ended up having to walk all the way home, about 5 miles, as he had missed the last bus. Wed stayed up till about 2.30am just so we could see them walk on the moons surface.
I dont know how we managed to stay awake at work the next day. But then, wed often stay up till the early hours in those days and think nothing of it I couldnt do it now though. We loved the 60s The Beatles, offshore radio, mini skirts, being young and carefree. We have found a wonderful on-line radio programme that plays mainly 60s music, its based in seekeerzs home town of Adelaide, South Australia and we have that playing most days now.
Anyway enough of the reminiscing.
As for this weeks MM Links Game, I shall follow the rules relating the word length as introduced by crofter. Each of my chosen link words contains at least four letters and at most eight. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one or more of your attempts! Each of my selected words may go in front of or after my challenge word. The competition will officially close at 7.00pm on Sunday evening when my selected words will be declared, and points awarded in the usual manner. My third set of words to be linked should appear below at 9.00am.
