MM Links Solutions November 2010 [Week 2]

This second week in the reign of Lady Slaney II found her ladyship adopting a fairly aggressive attitude. With a more familiar theme of “Molly Malone”, Slaney finally chose the following links:

VANITY Fair
SCAR City (ouch!)
Broad CHURCH
Narrow ESCAPE

Once again, there proved to be little success amongst the very early birds, but points began to pick up as the number of postings approached double figures.

First to strike it lucky was Entrant #9 [roslyn251254] with NARROW ESCAPE for TWO POINTS closely followed by centrino with VANITY FAIR for another TWO POINTS. Only stalwarts, Christiana and sarumite, were able to repeat one of these hits in good time to claim bonus points. With the clock well past 09.15, Strix, Grenmus and FoxLee2 each claimed one of these early hits to score only One Point.

It was time for fresh blood and this provided by ulysses100 [Entrant #28] who broke new ground with the fiendish SCARCITY supported by a delayed Vanity Fair to score an impressive THREE POINTS and hence qualified for the coveted title of HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK. Well done indeed!

With BROAD CHURCH still to be pinned down, it survived only until ladyalex herself entered the scene at 11.47am to claim the last link for the remaining TWO POINTS. Thereafter only wickedtongue, jobjockey, Elspeth, BigMac, tearinghair & twix123 were each able to pick up a single point (from Vanity Fair or Narrow Escape) in what proved to be a challenging MM Links Game.

These are still early days, but the above table is thick with MM ex-champions. There are two more rounds to go during which ANYTHING could happen.

I've been busy over the weekend, so have only just seen the results. It's been a while since i was last hotshot, so it's wonderful to have the title again, albeit for a short while. I overslept on Saturday morning too, otherwise I would have counted double points for Vanity Fair . Thanks to all who keep us going with these games. Let's see whether I can hang on to that lead !
