MM Links Solutions November 2010 [Week 3]
15 Answers
This third week in the reign of Lady Slaney II found her ladyship in a somewhat chilly mood. This was not only in her choice of theme [The Frozen Continent] for which her links were:
South PACIFIC
TOTEM Pole
KING Penguin
LEOPARD Seal
Equally chilly was the meagre flow (floe?) of points.

First to strike it lucky was Entrant #4 [gen2] with LEOPARD SEAL for TWO POINTS. Recalling his own adventures to Antarctica proved fruitful, and (fortunately) he was not to be seduced by the temptation to go for the gentoo penguin. He was closely followed by teacher1 with KING PENGUIN for another TWO POINTS.
By 09.08 we were entertained by FoxLee2 [Entrant #16] singing “I’m gonna wash that man right out of my hair” from SOUTH PACIFIC for yet another TWO POINTS. She was immediately followed by Big Chief Sarumite dancing around the TOTEM POLE for the last person to score a bonus point. Note that throughout all of this activity, no one was able to “tail gate” these scorers for bonus points.
Time marched on by three minutes before the scoring resumed, so points would be awarded singly from now on. There then followed a modest list of singleton hits from middlestump (still reeling from the latest Ashes win?), kawakiri, Elspeth, Shazza, Mr Ont-ice and paulineward. However, Entrant #30 deserves special mention, since centrino landed two hits ~ catching a King Penguin in the South Pacific for Two Points and qualifies for the coveted title of HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK. Well done indeed!

The top of the League Table after this third week is:
SIX POINTS: centrino

TWO POINTS: beejay1124, Christiana, Dinkypuzzled, gen2, Handbaglady, ladyalex, Mr Ont-ice, miss meg, owllady, roslyn251254, teacher1 & twix123
With only one week to go, there is much jockeying for position. Just how will the monthly challenge end up? Tune in next week to find out.
Until then: HAPPY LINKING!

Unfortunately, I cancelled my alarm when it went off and only surfaced at 8:55.
Just enough time yo wake my computer but insufficient time to read the preamble.
Once I did, I realised that South Georgia was not going to be one of the matches, but had I altered it, I doubt very much if I would have chosen 'Pacific' so no change there.
Thank you Slaney and Crofter. I look forward to next week.
