The Club is now Open

Good evening everyone. Once again it is a cold and wintry night, but the log fires are burning brightly and the Aga is almost red hot. No doubt drinks and nibbles will be available shortly.

Any raffle prizes will be welcome.
So far we have :

a pair of slipper socks (hardly used)
a bottle of eucalyptus oil
half a box of chocolates (hard centres only)
and a tube of steradent.

As it is Christmas time, tonight's raffle tickets will not be charged for...
donations to the building fund and staff wages will be quite acceptable instead.

If you are running short of winter fuel, why not throw a few peasants on the fire. You can start with me, as it's the only way I'm likely to get warm tonight.
lady, i thought you had arranged bouncers for the entrances ?
Question Author
Do come in mike11111
At this season all are welcome inside.
Draw up a cushion and toast your toes.
Question Author
I have given the bouncers the weekend off tonight , annesquiffy. Tis the season, you know.
Really sorry to belate milady , have the dreaded lurgy so wore full hygiene suit to prep drinks and nibbles.

DSJ sends apologies as has broomstick breakdown issues.
I thought mike said pheasants so i was anticipating roast pheasant with our dinner tonight. Don't think mike would taste quite the same somehow. Not only that but we need someone like him to keep us on the straight and narrow. We can't throw him on the fire. Not yet anyway, bit early in the evening.
Will be a little late tonight. Routine upset by Strictly Final and looking out of the window just in case it has started snowing. Will send a minion on ahead with raffle offering. Pair of hardly worn silver dance shoes, size 4.

SO sorry to hear of your lurgi, Mamya. I do hope you are treating it appropriately ...with alcohol. it does kill off the pesky little blighters and makes you feel a little better whilst it does so.
Poor DSJ , sorry to hear about her broomstick. Is it the snow ?
Are you feeling better mamy? Glad to see we haven't got to do without you. Who would do those inimitable tailcocks and nibbles if you were not there?
Question Author
Welcome, starbucks, Daisynoona and steve. Thank you so much for the raffle prizes.
Weather is turning grim here tonight.....we may not get out.
I will do my bes to cater for all tailcock tastes.
Question Author
You always do,Mamya...and you're so creative. I think many of us will remember for a long time your special WIncarnis and Creme de Menthe served warm.
I've brought along an antique hat pin for the raffle - it's a bit bent but I think whoever wins it will be able to straighten it. Is that tube of steradent full or half empty, or for that matter completely empty?
"no bouncers " ? i have no ruffle prizes, i need them for presents . but i do have a few xmas presents...for ladyalex, a new pair of spectacles, to be used when doing the ruffle !!!!!!!!! a wee tammy and a pink hot water bottle for mamy,(dont come within 6 feet of me please ) for her lurgy. and for ttfn, a book. ,poetry for beginners.. i have 3 pair of thermals on and still cold coming into the entrance hall,,,,,,,,,who let the peasant in ?
Question Author
Thanks for the pin, starrybuck.
There is half a tube of steradent. It is up to Members to decide whether it is half full or half empty. The Committee do not take a view.
Good evening everyone - I have brought a Christmas Hamper tonight - pushed the old shopping trolley out as it were. It is full of goodies and all within their sell by dates! How very festive the manse looks tonight. I have festive bouquets for our hostess and for mamya who have been so kind to us all this year.
Hi all! I have brought along two old tennis rackets (to use as snowshoes) for the raffle - unless we can think of another use for them. Anyone for tennis...??( Shiver!)
Question Author
Ena! welcome indeed. Are you feeling better, old girl ?
Thank you so much for the bouquet. I shall put it n water immediately.

Flicrat, hello. Thank you so much for the snowshoes. I think we will need them on our ever more regular trips to the wood pile.
Is that a pheasant on your avatar flicrat? Better watch it or it will be in the pot, especially if we get snowbound here.
