Can anyone recommend a good lavender oil please? I've bought them in the past and they just didn't smell right somehow. It's mainly for refreshing wheat packs, pillows etc.

Baldwin's of the Walworth Rd in London ( not far from the Elephant and Castle) are true herbalists and do a postal service. They will make it clear whether they are selling the true flower oil or artificial versions.
By the way, they sell wonderful Pot Pourri oils and lots of other perfume oils.

Well it's official F. has had the highest snowfall in the BBC Anglia region. Horrid stuff!! With my dodgy legs and hips, I am terrified to venture out even into the garden!!
still no snow here and the dumb met office are still posting severe weather warnings for us even though their own maps show us as clear....

Robi has she found the dollhouse printable sites? lovely things to make as well as pictures and wallpaper, most of its free.

Lottie I sympathise. When we had the freezing weather here 3?4? years ago, I never stepped out of the house, even to the garage.
Yes lottie much as I prat about and love snow, I too am frightened of breaking a hip at my age, when at sister's I had to come down the stairs carefully and not leap as I used to do. Can't climb up on kitchen tops now to clean the top shelves so they do not get done, if hija and/or Mr N can't see the dirt, then it's not there!!!!

Slow cooker stew was really nice, I had it on slow for 6 hrs and the veg was still uncooked so turned up to med, and then to high, really nice. Forgot to make dumplings though. Am all washed up (NO!!) floors washed and me bathed and in a nice clean smelling bed awaiting EE!!!
Oh Robi, dolls houses, I love them. Can't you make them beds out of matchboxes and knit with that cotton reel like we used to do when we were kids? I could not let the poor family stand all day and all night and a garden bench??? what!!! I hope at least that they have clothes on, poor wee mites!
My house is now so quiet. What a great afternoon having my own private entertainment. It was such a treat to hear them together. Then I fed and watered them and then they had another session now
Steady has gone home and Bro has gone to his gig in Loughborough at an accoustic club. There are 4 guitarists on. He'll be back tonight then I think he's going home tomorrow.

Carlos has got fed up with me!! He has given me a 6 month open appointment and he stressed if I have any problem I have to get in touch with his secretary to make an appointment. (He does that for everybody I expect but he made me feel great anyway). He said my wrist would now improve over the months. I still have to go for my work shops twice a week but I imagine now that I wont be going for much longer.
Apparently today I lifted 2.5 kilos with my damaged wrist and Chris (therapist) said that was really good because last week I could hardly do it at all.
In between all that I managed a lunch with my Tia Chi friends and I had a chicken curry and Naan Bread. Now I'm off to tidy up and then relax in bed. Probably be asleep by 9.00.
I think the snow will be gone within the next couple of days.
I hope so really cos like you I'm scare of slipping now in my old age!!
Oight Oight all see yer later 'gater(s)
well the wet bits of my garden are like a skating rink already so no early outing for us tomorrow. Its almost always two or three degrees lower in the forest than in my garden and I have no inclination to end up on my bum in the dark. Have just been out and checked on the tortoises and tweaked the heating.
I had a lovely dolls house as a child which my Dad made .It was from a woodworkers magazine and was Tudor style . All wallpapered with scraps and lights which ran off a battery .I used to get little bits of furniture at the toy shop with my pocket money and knit tiny blankets for matchbox beds .I then progressed to wanting a bike and the dolls house had to be sold :(

No snow here but really foggy and icy .I just went out to the bin and it was all slippery .Picky rang a little while ago ,he was in Kings Lynn today .He left around four and got home shortly before 1O .Said it was horrendous and at one stage was considering abandoning his car on the approach to Norwich .It was total gridlock .Strange that we are half an hour away and no snow at all .
That's a lovely winter scene Lofty but stay indoors in the warm .Buggering over in this lot is the last things us old biddies need .
Nice pics Jude .Men do tend to make the place look untidy :)
Oight Oight Lovelies ,sleep toight and keep warm .

wide awake tonight but i'd better go up...last wee for the dogs and tortoise check...oight oight all.
went to a Scottish do, lots of whisky I couldn't drink because of the antibiotics. Which was dumb of me since I was only taking them to stop my teeth getting infected but they seem to have done so anyway. I should probably have enjoyed myself with a wee dram.

Evening all. I shall go and reread dotty's thread, that should cure insomnia.
Jon, its at at the silly stage.....sillier than desktop. I am in bed and still awake. If its the anti bis you can't take a dram with, you need a clear 24 hour minimum before indulging. They are the only ones that work on my mouth infections as I can't have penicillin.
Good morning all. I'm still in bed feeling rough. Sore throat and all the rest of it.
Doing this on my phone. Heating didn't come on so after sorting it still waiting for the house to warm up before getting out of bed see you in a bit.
Good morning, jno are you OK, hopefully not anywhere near the helicopter crash.

Poor jude, can just stay in the warm today and look after yourself or is it a school day? Have to say yoou write very well on your pone, I always leave out capitals and punctuation marks on mine.

I'd better get up and shake a leg, oh perhaps not, I may break something, chilly here, I was almost expecting to wake up to snow, but that's what comes of watching the British news!

Morning all .
Freezing cold here .Everything iced up. Brrrrr.
I'd stay put if I was you Jude .Hot lemon and honey might ease your throat Take it easy .
Oh what a shame Jno ,all that lovely scotch going begging :(

Take care today biddies and keep warm .
Robinia, yes if you read my post you would see that I was asking jno if she was ok and not anywhere near the crash! d'oh.

Where is dotty's thread to which jno alludes??? I want to be nosey!
crash is not near me; I have to cross the river a few miles further up on my way to the dentist but hopefully the overspill will not stop me getting there to undergo more grief.
from Twitter:

@Freddie_UK: A woman has been taken to hospital after eating horsemeatburgers. Her condition is said to be stable.

@BobJWilliams: I expect this only relates to those mini-burgers you have as snacks. You know, the horse d'oeuvres.

@JohnMoynes: I get all my horsemeat from an independent dodgy butcher.

@DiamondsIRL: Are you in favour of Horsemeat in your burgers? Yay or Neigh?

@GBretman: So horsemeat has been found in TescoProducts but a spokesman says It's botox

@pinkyperfection: I had a tesco burger and now I'm feeling a little horse

@brucel: Those Aldi horse burgers were nice, but I prefer My Lidl Pony

@PaulLewis: Scientist: "Sir, we've discovered horse meat in your burgers." Tesco boss: "Why the long face?"

@PensionsMonkey: There was an old woman who swallowed a horse, she'd been to Tesco, of course.

@elhaydo: Good thing about these horse puns is it's stopped all the sick Jimmy Saddle jokes
