Can anyone recommend a good lavender oil please? I've bought them in the past and they just didn't smell right somehow. It's mainly for refreshing wheat packs, pillows etc.

Baldwin's of the Walworth Rd in London ( not far from the Elephant and Castle) are true herbalists and do a postal service. They will make it clear whether they are selling the true flower oil or artificial versions.
By the way, they sell wonderful Pot Pourri oils and lots of other perfume oils.

That's lovely shaney, you have done well!!

Have now tidied my knicker drawer, my bra drawer, my sox drawer, and the other "where I bung the misc" drawers, feel very virtuous, and have chucked out a load of knickers, and am now hot washing loads and loads of White sox which I didn't know I had, well I did, but they were one here; one there; one everywhere!!!!

Didn't you do well shaney...and so soon after xmas! :) Enjoy it all.
It's my sister's in a couple of weeks...I know she'd like a long lightweight dressing gown, but I expect it'll be a while before they get them in. I could only find the fluffy ones at xmas. What about people going on holiday or those, like her, who start the day in the tropics and end it in the Arctic?

Went to collect my 'scription and got dragged into a cupboard for a 'review of my meds' with the pharmacist... rolls eyes ....Actually I got a good one, considering the flapping about the others do she was very efficient...and knows all about fibro, which is a miracle.

I ended up with one odd black sock in the washing yesterday...someone must have pinched the other to sew a face on.

neit if I had been busy I would agree with you but doing naff all wears me out!!! I do feel a bit better each day and am only having a winge. I am not used to being ill!
hello Robi, you nipped in while I was typing. I am very picky about socks since I discovered the ones that have no toe seam, (sock shop online) My latest ones are a lovely brilliant red. I have got six (!) dressing gowns. Two heavyweight, two mid weight that zip up the front and are ankle length, a light summer one and a posh one with a matching nightie in fine cotton jersey. With muddy dogs who like to sit in my lap, i need one on and one in the wash of my winter ones.
Our local Boots have currently got a good pharmacist. He.s a late middle aged welshman and very knowledgeable and helpful.
goodness, after all those weeks on the last thread of strolling in past the statuary and patting Apollo's bottom for good luck etc it really is rather unsettling to walk into Shopping and be confronted with hucksters telling me to win Uggs and trips to Las Vegas. So brash.
Question Author
Well at least it's a bit of glitz for dark days of January jno...and if you decide to pop to Vegas there are Uggs for every occasion...in fact, why not wear them to the museum next time......

hmmm, seamless socks... sounds like just the thing for my poor feet woofy. Funnily enough I picked up some spongy insoles while I was out earlier.
45 single White sox drying on the whirlygig, and that's not counting the ones I haven't washed and the black ones, the red, pink & purple ones, I do seem to have an inordinate amount of sox and knickers and bras. I have secreted away in the back of the wardrobe a huge plastic bag full of bras which I do not a) like or b) wear, but may need one day!!
Slow cooker advice please. My new one has high, médium and low markings on it. Now tomorrow I wish to make a beef curry (usijng skirt of beef) I know the ingredients but how do I use the cooker? Do I seal the beef and fry the onions first with the curry poder or what, simple instructions please???
oh, I've got spongy insoles. Just without the S.

haha...lol ^^^ ....

Don't ask me neti, my idea of slow cooking is faff about for hours to make something I can eat in ten minutes...and then spend another hour clearing up. It's a sains hotpot for me tonight, the nearest thing I've got to woofy's M and S filled yorkshire pudding. Now they are luvverly.
not cheap but blissfully comfortable and not strangly around the ankles

I usually brown the meat off first Neti .Then chuck everything else in the pot and leave it on all day on low .

Sorry I'm late Shaney. Been on the go all day. I hope you've had a good day. Plenty to eat and drink and relaxing.
Neti don't ask me either how to cook on an electric oven. I can't convert from gas (1 to 9). Medium for me is 5.
Had a letter today cancelling my appointment with Carlos from next Monday to Tuesday so I had to ring and alter my work shop appointment from Monday to Tuesday as well. What a palaver.
Mind you I'd do anything for Carlos ;) wouldn't I! I'm back there tomorrow as well.

I hope Mr. S goes on alright with his next test shaney. That one is a right 'pain in the proverbial'. Please don't mind my joke. I really do hope he's ok but I have had 3 of them so I know what it is like.

going to Later I have to write a letter to the post office because the postman has sprained my letterbox on the outside when he pushed a parcel through while I was away. It now doesn't close properly on the outside flap don''t suppose they'll do much but I'll give it a try.
Hope all of you with a lurgy of any sort feel better soon. I just have a pain in my arm as I usually do when I've been doin strenuous exercises. They had me on a piece of Gym equipment again yesterday pushing a bar up and down. Eventually they are going to put weights on it when I can actually do it. That was supposed to give you a laugh!
I'm off get something to eat now.
Have a good night everybody see yer later 'gater(s)

When we've eaten I boil my socks up in it :))
Oh yoohoo Jude ..thank you ..I've had a good day .My bro and SiL came round earlier and we had cake and tea and a natter.
They'll have you playing tennis soon :))
If you want the onions and other veg with brown bits on then brown them first, if not just brown the meat, chuck everything in with the seasonings and a little water. I start mine off on high till it bubbles then turn down to low.
Thank you biddies, I am going to try it tomorrow. My new computer won't work! It all comes on and then nothing, the motor won't start, I dare not tell Mr N so am leaving it over night to see if all is OK tomorrow.

Have a nice night biddies, see you all tomorrow.
Just nipped in for a last catch-up and I'm seething at my printer - it just stopped printing after I'd scanned a couple of documents. I've tried everything I can think of. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Oight Oight again!
there should be print diagnostics on your computer, you can also try uninstalling and re installing....tiem for bed, we are out early tomorrow, oight oight all
look like Accuweather was totally inaccu again and the sun will not shine on me atop the Shard. If it appears at all it will be about the time I am descending to go to lunch with sisses.

Had a good time at Salad Days last night. That nice young Alastair Sooke was sitting near me.
