No idea. Doug I don't know what you mean by that.

Abbey I really do try to take your posts as genuine, I really do, but when you then post something like this, and then last post says you're going to the shop in a min but really can't be bothered, knowing that will probably wind up half the people on here trying to help you then I do question whether your posts are all a complete wind up!

Question Author

I didn't say I'm not going

Nor did I. But you said you can't be bothered - doesn't sound great when your asking to work there does it!

Douglas is referring to the guy on POF where you said you liked what you saw and were thinking of making a move on him.

Abbey has done a  couple of hours at work today and has had to travel there and back and has had POF and Answerbank to contend with so may feel tge need to have a nap.

Question Author

I don't work there it's volunteering.

Smowball, I've been thinking that and saying it for ages.

I know that Abbey...but I assumed you'd been at selco  for your usual short shift today.

Actually I have no idea who your post at 15:29 was aimed at or why you made the point.

How about this :-

Is that meant to be a genuine suggestion Canary? If so I'm stunned.

Abbey

You should treat working in a charity shop in the same way as a paid job.

They will depend on you turning uo for your shift.  You should receive training and you have to put effort into learning about how the shop works.

If you do well as a volunteer you might be able to add it to your CV.

lol @ canary  @ 15:50 😂

Question Author

Downside is there full of old people working there

How is that the downside?

Well it is if you are young, no one to talk to for instance.

Same problem if it was reversed.

Abbey, I'm assuming you'd been inside charity shops before?

PS The old people aren't 'working' there, of course, merely volunteering...

Sorry Prudie - I was trying to make a point satirically.

[If you're looking in Abbey, please don't even consider it]

Of course the people are working, just not being paid for it like the CEO probably on seven figures.
