I need to get a new dress in the spring/ earlier summer.
I plan to wear it to yet another of my friends parties (well his parents party who've said he can invite some people), that's going to celebrate the royal wedding, and his mum said that 'everyone should wear their best frock!'
Plus I'll wear it to the wedding reception kind of party of my cousin. You know, the one whose getting married in America, but hardly anyone will be there, so they're having a party a few days after they get from their honeymoon.
I don't really read the fashion magazines (CBA as I don't really have the time).
Any ideas for colour(s) and style?
Colours that suit me; muddy and metallic colours.
Style; I haven't a foggy.
Length will be below the knees.
Still don't get it, they all just look like women's shoes to me. Perhaps I should research a bit deeper, but maybe I'm a little bit too old to become a tranny.
When I first started work in an office I was running up and down stairs with heels on with no problem - now I feel wobbly on them walking on the flat. I am terrified of stairs these days - going up and down.
Mike - I will 'ogle' the guys if I go out tomorrow. ;-)
i liked the grey dress from monsoon that craft posted up, i think that might suit you molly? but it might be a bit pricey though? ~ you might see it if you return? lol ....
im with you wolf, im not one for stairs either, going up nor down..
up > ohh, just toooo much like hard work!
and
down > theyre a nightmare when youve got big boobies and you cant see the blummin steps ;o/
loobyloo - I haven't seen my feet for years. Boobs get in the way!
Molly - it really depends on your shape. If you are top heavy or got a big belly or behind. Monsoon have some lovely dresses, so do Debenhams. Start with an idea of how much you want to spend - have a look around on-line for ideas of style, length etc.
I hope you find one that you are happy with and that is comfortable.
wolf, no more than £50 including shoes (if i need to get them), hopefully it'll be something slightly 'classic' so it won't be outa fashion by the end of the year.
The Dotty P dress is lovely and is quite a classic style allowing you to get a few wears out of it.
You must realise that your question is an impossible one for us to answer as without knowing what you look like, what your current style is and what YOU feel comfortable wearing.
BTW to anyone who wants more details of my shape etc. I'm a size 10/12, with D cups. I'm not sure about my figure shape, possibly hour glass, but with broad shoulders. And although it's quite muscular, my belly is a bit on the big side . . .
And A dress that goes to my knees (roughly). And one that has shoulder straps on, so that it'll support my b00bs.
The only problem i might have with it is for the bust area to be big enough, the waist might be far too big, that's what normally happens, maybe I could wear a belt though if that's the case . . .
Molly a Personal Shopper is a brilliant idea. Phone up some of the shops that you like to see if they have them - maybe John Lewis if you have one near you. They give good advice and let you try on loads of clothes, but do not be pressured to buy if you don't like what they show you, once you have taken their advice you can always go elsewhere. If you feel like you have to buy something, and when you get home you change your mind, you can always take it back. I think Primark dress fabric can sometimes be a bit poor quality. New Look is good, what about Top Shop ? Now there's an idea !
