If they don't contribute then they shouldn't have a say where council tax money is spent.

ken: "given your income must be fairly decent if what you say you do for a living is true" - I have TGL and The Unions in equal measure to thank for that. I was born to an unemployed family living on a council estate. I've worked since I was 13, I always had a job. Whilst I saw the damage socialism was doing I was also inspired by TGL to make something of myself. Much to the chagrin of my parents I went on to higher education found something I was good at and got myself a career. I had no silver spoon, no advantage. If I can drag myself out of the gutter so can anyone else. There are the same chances for us all, some choose to take them many do not and spend their entire lives hating those who do. That's why I vote Tory.
For DonkeyHoaty @ 14:50...TGL = The Great Lady. Margaret Thatcher according to TTT.
"I believe she meant dog eat dog."

TTT; "No she did not."

How do you know?

I know because I have read all her books. I know what she meant.
PERLEASE! PMSL.
The ideology is fully explained ken, try and educate yourself:

Perhaps you could enlighten us then?
I'm off fiction for the time being, TTT. Ta but no Ta.
why would she write "fiction" about herself? What an odd thing to say.
^
So that devotees like you would fawn over her even more than you already were.
> thus I have no choice in how I vote

i.e. they're all rubbish, and you vote for the least rubbish as you see it, which is what a lot of people do.

However, most people don't defend the least rubbish as if it was a shining example of what a political party should be. They at least own up to the fact that they voted for a fourth rate political party because it was the best they could do ...
elipsis: "However, most people don't defend the least rubbish as if it was a shining example of what a political party should be. They at least own up to the fact that they voted for a fourth rate political party because it was the best they could do ... " - I am very happy with the party and happy to vote for it. I'm not pretending.
I am able to look beyond the mindless trivia that infects the media everyday and concentrate on the big ticket items and in those the government is performing well, especially taking into account the constant crises that have befallen us since dec 2019.
TGL = The Great Lady. Margaret Thatcher according to TTT.

I like The Great Liar ( current address: 10 Downing St) - TTT means Thatcher by the way
or The Great Lover ( same address - does he pay for all the kids he has spewed, the randy little sad)
To my mind, this isn't fair. You should contribute financially as other people. Why should someone pay less than you and have the same rights? After all, the chosen leader will affect every member of society. In every community should be the principle of equality between individuals. I hope the authorities will listen to our voice and change our system. Maybe it will help to write more reports on https://www.councilratings.co.uk. The committee is usually responsive and helpful. However, there should be more people involved. It wouldn't affect the following selection, though. But it can influence the future.
