The Mc Cann Parents are once again whinging that the British police have given up searching for Madeleine. The search cannot go on for ever using our Police. The Mc Canns have funds to carry on their own search in Portugal but why expect our police to be used when Madeleine went missing in Portugal. She would not be missing if they had not left her in the flat I hasten to add.I so hope that she is safe and well looked after somewhere bless her. Other children have gone missing I do not remember Ben Needhams Mother expecting help when he went missing in Greece many years ago.I am tired of them complaining.

They may well believe they were second best.... not a healthy place to be as you grow up
As a side issue a friend who worked as a nanny said the resort had exceptionally good child minding facilities but they were expensive.....

I agree the police cannot go on forever looking for her. But its not whinging or complaining its giving them hope. Put yourself in their shoes and just think you would do anything to try and get your daughter back. And as for leaving those kids alone. Dont you think everyday 'what if' and blame themselves for not being there. I hope one day she is found.
Regardless of how & why the tragedy occurred, the fact is that we do not have an infinite budget to spend and infinite time to work on any particular case. There is inevitably a point at which, if it has not been solved it must become low priority, effectively waiting for something new to come up, while more recent, more solvable cases are progressed.
I'm sure there are other cases that have not had a fraction of the attention this one has had.
Sad it may be but there is always a point at which a UK citizen has to be effectively given up on, save for any future new lead.

It must be a terrible thing to lose a child, but I must admit I'm sick of seeing her miserable face in the paper every couple of months or so. She must use her own funds now to search, our police have done all they can. The British police have enough to cope with in this country let alone Portugal. If she is still alive, I doubt if she is still in Portugal anyway.
