You're not presenting a good image of Islam with comming out with rubbish like that Keyplus!

I think a few muslim women who'd tell you the same too!
it is not sexist, however much you want to believe, women pray with women so they can talk with women etc, sitting in a room with men bending down and doing the prayer can be awkward for both.
you are an idiot.
don't care if that gets blipped, i can't believe the rubbish you lot come out with.
oh, the irony
really... please explain. sexist, misogynist nonsense.
i just have, you didnt agree (like normal), end off. If you result to personal name calling than sorry, but im here to answer questions and get answers, not to explain everything i say, believe and do to people who will not accept it, or who are, in your words, "idiots".
Of course segregation of the sexes is not per se the problem. There are lots of cases where that happens :-)
And lightbulb does have a point
It all depends what one culture sees as "normal". To me, women-only health spas seem less odd than men-only golf clubs, but others might not agree
no one finishes a sentence with end of, that is just childish
and resorting to calling someone an "idiot" because they believe different to you is, i believe, childish.
thank you ichkeria
the original post is why don;t you see Muslim women go to the mosque to pray, they do, however in separate places, and as been said, they can do so at home, in between the chores, if you please
end of is not a comment, statement or continuing the debate, it's saying i won't listen and say any more.
no, its saying i wont listen to a person who resorts to calling another person an "idiot" because their belief differs. If you had said, "i do not agree" than fine, but "idiot" is getting personal and is, in my books, childish. If you think i am sexist or misogynistic, then good for you, because i know that i am not, what you think is of very little interest to me.
Lightbulb, you might find this interesting.

but strangely what you say is of interest and not just to me, but lot's of people on here,

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
from Naomi's link

Generally, the major Fatawa books of the Indian Subcontinent Hanafi jurists (fuqaha) discourage (quite vehemently at times) women from attending and praying at Mosques. They base their understanding on the fact that a woman is encouraged by Allah Most High to remain within the confines of her home unless there is a need for her to emerge outside. Allah Most High says:
...And Allah knows best. ;o)
I'm not really sure what your complaint is emmie, but calling someone an idiot really degrades your point, even if think they are being one.

I see no real problem particularly with segregation of the sexes in mosques (tbh, its probably a better position for the women if the muslim men really can't control themselves) the more important thing is that women do actually have a dedicated space in a community mosque to go to for collective prayer.
//the more important thing is that women do actually have a dedicated space in a community mosque to go to for collective prayer. //

... but they often don't.
