Could it be that in trying to discover the origins of the universe, science has compromised its search for the truth, in favour of a strict adherence to naturalism?

Khandro - // Sandy; Naturalism is/was the antidote to Romanticism.
Naturism is walking around in you birthday suit. //

Clearly Sandy's irony klaxon is faulty, allow me to lend him mine -

"WHAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!"
Theland searches only for that which supports his opinion - hence he latched onto the claim that science has disproven the universe to be eternal. He read that somewhere but it'll do because it suits his agenda. Funny how science can be so wrong .... and yet so right.
Again....................bonkers!
Let's let God convince everyone he exists first, should be simple enough to do for an omnipotent being. Once we've got over that little hurdle then we'll worry about whether he created the universe or not.
Don't see that as being a reasonable criterion. If a God exists and not removed doubt yet, then there must be a reason we're left uncertain. So we need to get back to the OP.
Perfectly reasonable. Why would anyone even consider that God created the universe if there's no evidence God even exists? God might have been created at the same time as the universe and made out he did it all thinking we'd never find out.
I don't wish to appear rude, but the depth of teleological discussion on AB gets rather trying.

Naomi - 10:29 - The scientists you quote accept the universe is 13.7 billion years old, ie it had a beginning and not past eternal. Do you agree?
Question Author
Naomi - Science is agreed in the main on the age of the universe, and that it began.
Where it is disingenuous is its self imposed metaphysical prohibition, and ostracises any in its ranks that deviate from the party line.
Theland, you might have missed my question, posted at 22.54 yesterday. Do you consider it as valid as yours, or will you dismiss it completely?
//Theland, you might have missed my question, posted at 22.54//
He didnt.
//Do you consider it as valid as yours//
He wont.
//will you dismiss it completely?//
He will.

Theland has a habit of abstaining from difficult questions until pressed and then he will post a you-tube link. Like a slippery politician he evades questions until really pressed and then claims to have already answered (by posting a you-tube link), expecting people to sit through hours of vids (waffle) that really only required a straight forward response from himself.

As an evangelical christian, I did the same myself. I redirected people to books (pre-internet age) and thought that I had answered peoples questions.
I had to grow up eventually and realise that if I couldnt answer for myself then I wasnt really answering!

Then you, and your fellow fog-plaiters have a very simple and in my view highly attractive option open to you ….
Theland - // Where it is disingenuous is its self imposed metaphysical prohibition, and ostracises any in its ranks that deviate from the party line. //

And Christian fundamentalists would never dream of being so close-minded and pompous - would they>

Your sole contributions to this thread are as follows:

The first lines of Genesis and //That's good enough for me, night-night!//

//Naturism is walking around in you birthday suit.//

Oh that you would try ‘trying’.

Theland, //The scientists you quote….//

I haven’t quoted any scientists.
Question Author
I should have said, the scientific position you support.
Never mind.

We will just have to agree to disagree.

Thank you for your posts.
Theland - // We will just have to agree to disagree. //

Here's any idea -

Next time you feel the urge to post another of your OP's that centre around asking for views and opinions, and then dismissing them as unworthy of your own view -

Copy this phrase out in giant letters, paste it above your monitor, and glance at it when the urge to post hits - you can save yourself, and everyone else on here, several hours of valuable time in any given day.
That's 'an' idea BTW, not 'any' idea!!!
Question Author
Andy - Thank you.
That certainly shuts me up.
Question Author
Heaven forbid I should be responsible for wasting your valuable time.
Theland - // Andy - Thank you.
That certainly shuts me up. //

Somehow, I rather doubt that!!
