Can you tell me what that religion is please?

For ME (my choice) I believe it to be true, (though yes of course as a Christian I am naturally biased towards biblical verses .... just the same as as a Muslims would be towards the Koran or a Hindu's towards the Veda's).

I presumed opinions of all sorts are welcome on AB?

But youve been studying the Bible for 39 years. Havnt you ever questioned THESE prophecies?
Jesus prophesied that believers would lay hands on the sick and they SHALL recover, no ifs or butts.
He prophesied that believers would do GREATER things than himself.

It doesnt happen. Ive attended hundreds (if not thousands) of meetings where these verses...and others...are preached and people are invited to accept healing etc.
Never seen the dead bought back to life (Lazarus) or a (confirmed) case of terminal cancer cured or a severed limb grow back. But this is exactly what jesus promised would happen.
Why arnt the Christians that actually believe this, in cancer wards, hospices, and kids hospitals showing us the reality of their saviours words.
(instead of watching you tube vids all day long in order to validate their beliefs)

nailit, sorry, I've only just come back to this thread. In answer to your question regarding the New Testament, I've read it in its entirety three times. First time as a child I had to read from it each night before sleeping. Secondly, the Sunday School teacher gave it to us as homework and we were tested on the following Sundays. Thirdly, as an adult to make certain I hadn't misread it on the first two occasions. It confirmed my original opinion that it was written by men to control people of lesser intelligence than themselves. It is totally inconsistent, I cannot comprehend why so many still believe it.
