20:16 The Bible is just a set of rules, which works well
It works well, but it is far more than a set of rules.
Elaborate Theland please
It is Gods inspired and revealed word to us, with instruction and encouragement for us to become more Christlike in our discipleship to our Lord.

//encouragement for us to become more Christlike in our discipleship to our Lord//
Yeah, really like to become like your Lord that tortureing my loved ones right now.
Theland Christlike? He’s having a larf.
Your mockery is totally expected, you never disappoint.
No just guidance
And justified. Get over yourself, theland. Saintly you ain’t!
No, saintly I definitely ain't. A sinner through and through, my need for a Saviour has never been greater.
You are regretfully quite right.

No where in the OT does it say that you need a saviour....

Thats a new testament invention. ...

Plenty of times in the OT God forgave people without a 'saviour'
Remember the story of Jonah?
What sacrifice did they (people of ninavah) make?
Question Author
The people of Israel were commanded to make atonenment by
lex talionis.
NO SACRIFICE Required.
ANYWHERE..
Any sacrifice was for unintentional sin.
Intentional sin was one thing...which jewish law accounted for....Eye for an eye etc...
Other 'sin' required a sacrifice.
Nowhere else does Jewish law, in the Hebrew, scriptures demand sacrifice, especialy human sacrifice and certainly not the human sacrifice of god,,,a non sensical idea idea anyway!

This whole Christian theology that God had to somehow sacrifice himself to himself to save his creation from himself makes no sense whatsoever.

nailit; You're ranting & raving, ask yourself why?

If you really want to know what Hell is like, look no further than the Battle of Stalingrad or what happened at Auschwitz, & more - it's a long list

/nailit; You're ranting & raving, ask yourself why? //
If ranting & raving consists of quoting scripture then I suggest that R&S be shut down.

Whats upset you now Khandro?
Ever since animals were slaughtered to provide covering skins for Adam and Eve, it is by example that blood must be shed to provide a covering for sin.
What a pity God didn't think of Polyester. Fake suits him so well.
Hell is surely reading some of these posts

demanding sacrifices:

Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” G 22 2

sounds like a sacrifice to me, but then I have heard the Pope may be a roman catholic
