Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive

My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.

Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)

(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

good morning! ooo Neti wait for the flood of begging letters! We are having a small miracle here. Shughy seems to have decided that rain, even quite heavy rain that feels muggy and thundery is Not Scarey but can safely be slept through. Seriously first time in years we have had a night of heavy muggy rain and have all slept through it!

So relieved cat is OK just old and 90% deaf. She will continue to shout at night but is quite happy!!

Bit fresher and sunny here atm but we had a really good drop of rain overnight and earlier this morning.Good for the gardens which were looking dry and sad,my ceanothus blue is looking much perkier ..lol and I expect the farmers are clapping their hands.
Well done Shughy .Weather never bothered old Shaney .He would insist on walkies whatever the weather. He was in doggy heaven if it snowed.
Nothing exciting here ,just having a break from shirt ironing .Quite nice out the back with door wide open.There was a goldie singing away out there just now.

That is a relief Neti....yes Shaney, we have had a whoel day of warm muggy tropical style rain and Shughy has been restless but nowhere near panic which is lovely. Its done the garden good but it was too wet to work outside and too hot to work inside so i haven’t done much today....heigh ho!

Morning all. Good old shugy that's nice. Even Mouaey let us sleep for 6 hours without a shout.
Hija's brought bags of washing home, so I've been washing and ironing all day yesterday.
I need a hair dryer although I never actually use one so got one non my Air Miles points. Should be here today or tomorrow.

got my cholesterol test results, and doc says they're perfect, 3.5. She took my BP too, and that was halfway to the moon, but I did it again myself when I got home and it was back to where it used to be, so it must have just been a blip caused by my worrying about neti's teeth.

Thank you for worrying jno. I am trying to ignore it. Have had a headache for 3 days and I rarely get headaches.
My bl is on the cusp at 208, don't know how it works in UK.

It's been sloshing it down all night .Drove me up the wall rattling on the windows.Still drizzling now and chilly .I know we needed it but I think that's enough .Hope you're all ok.

Woe and thrice woe, it was a nightmare. I cried. Took one hour to remove it bit by bit and my jaw on the other side was killing me, she's going to x-ray my whole mouth next week. She said it would have been best to have this out in hospital as it had a very thick and long root. My wisdom on the same side were also problematic and had them out in hospital. Got stitches.
Apart from that it is a sunny day, I am resting now and having pancakes for food when I'm up to it.

Jaw is the size of a tennis ball. I am so hungry, have eaten a Greek yogurt and 2 cold sweet pancakes so not all bad!!

Am watching Three girls. Very watchable esoeciallybas a mother of a girl. Feeling pretty much OK now. Have eaten another 2 pancakes and another mint yogurt.

I have eaten some slices of Hovis slathered with Philadelphia cheese about two inches deep.

I've just eaten two slices of Sainsbury's fruit loaf slathered with butter and cherry jam.

hello all. Glad to hear the gappy chappies are doing ok. We have had Weather with a capital W here. bad on wednesday, worse on thursday. Today I have had a thing like a stomach crampy upset with a migraine. I thought it might be appendicitis but when I looked it up the pain was on the wrong side so I decided I’d take painkillers and live with it. Much better this evening. Might need to drag myself to the docs if the migraines don’t give over and see if there is anything better than migralieve.

I've had such a bother with this site I've given up. So much so I've decided to not even log in on my new lappy, I don't want it buffering up by this site....and it is only this site. Makes you wonder what's going on?

Hope you're all as well as you can be, sorry your tooth was a trial neti. I remember how awful my last one was, even though it felt like an age to get out I don't think it was an hour. Take it easy.

I'm getting major headaches every other day too woofy, it's very strange, not to mention debilitating. I still think it's weather/air pollution. Tarquin says he's suffering the worst hayfever for years.

Beautiful biddies, it is I. So sorry woofy and Robi are not too well. I had a 3 day headache and I never get them but am fine now.
Feel so much better today, it's been normal, We've been shopping and I collected my hair dryer from a air miles, and Mr N and I had a few drinkies poos, I've washed the bathroom towels etc and eaten 2 cheese N ham pancakes.
