Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive

My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.

Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)

(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

Muggy drizz mizz day here after the lovely warm sunshine yesterday.

hope the goofy toofies are ok. My aches have subsided which is just as well as we were up at 4am because of the weather. It has been on and off since then so we have dozed and woken. Its gone off elsewhere now so the boys have subsided in a heap so I can too. My plans to potter in the garden today have been put on hold because its all too wet. Heigh ho there is always tomorrow

Don't know where the days go, I've only been doing random stuff and straining random muscles. Yesterday was glorious, today it's rained but we do need it.
Grantchester was sad last night, only two more episodes in this series.
My nephew & fiancee have jetted off for a three week safari in Zambia. I hope they bring me back a giraffe, I've got some trees that need pruning.

I enjoyed Grantchester.
My tooth removal had been put back until Friday, as hija is coming and we are having a Chinese meal, and Wed morning I am taking Mousey to the vet as I will have the car. Was worried that I'd be all wimpy if I have a tooth out!

Sad wasn't it .Poor Leonard ,he's so loveable.He's my favourite character.
Actually I've just read the latest book in which Sidney's wife Hildegard dies.The tv series is nothing like the books at all apart from the characters names.
I know I bang on about it but if they are going to film or televise a book please get some of it right some of the time :)
I've just watched the last episode of Little Boy Blue .Terribly sad .I was blubbing.The police officer who brought those scrotes to justice was treated very shabbily by his boss.

Morning all. For some reason I am up early!!
I couldn't watch Little Boy Blue of the Damilola one. When its real children It breaks my heart, way too sad. Bad enough when its fiction. I do like Grantchester but when Geordie's wife found out, poor thing.

Me too up early (ish) its bin day so I have to be. The dogs have had brekkie and gone back to bed.

I have been defanged. In its place they have put a single false tooth on a plate, to stop the gap closing up in case I want an implant, which I probaby will. I have just tried to eat a sandwich and an orange with the plate in place and it is a nightmare. My mouth is all the wrong shape and bits of food are going everywhere. I will have to invent whole new ways of eating. I suppose I will be able to take the plate out once the gum has healed, but not just yet.

I am now waiting for the anaesthetic to wear off. This should be fun.

That sounds most uncomfortable for you Jno .Perhaps you could try sprinkling some Dr. Wernets on the plate to hold it in place. I've got a three tooth one on my bottom back teeth and don't have any problems.
Lovely day here,very warm .Been to town.Bought three bras.
Mr S.bought a jacket and we got some fruit,salad stuff and dressed crabs from the market .Crab salads for tea ..yum.

Good morning. I've won €4.20 on euro millions! What shall I do with it all? Got to try to get cat to vet today, and its the busiest day of the week with the huge Hippie market in the next village and the roads will be jammed. Hope it'll be OK.
