System Security

During the last few days for some reason or other an icon has appeared on my computer, it's black with diagonal balack stripes going under the name of System Security. This system scanned my PC and says I have 38 virusis ranging from "worm" to "trojan" and invites me to protect my PC.

I have Norton 360 which i have used to scan my PC and it found nothing.

I have also today a reopt on screen to state that internet explorer is infected with worm Lsas.Blaster.Keyloger and referring to file IEXPLORE.EXE

I would welcome some advice onme how i can "get rid" of "system security" off my PC or the worm that has appeared in windows explorer.

Well you could try Malwarebytes anti-malware, which is available from www.malwarebytes.org , though I'm sure other people will be along soon with other recommendations.

It's the problem (the doofer with black stripes) - not what it's telling you is wrong.

On Vista it's
Control Panel
Programs & Features - then highlight unwanted software and then uninstall

On Windows it's something like
Control Panel
then add/remove software

Or wait for ChuckFickens to come along, he'll know what to do.

AC was correct, the problem is what your being told.... the problem is the software doing the telling. no doubt it wants you to download and pay for something that will claim to fix all the false positives it is warning you about.

On of the following should fix it.

Adaware free

Spybot search and destroy

or malwarebytes as in huderon link above.

For best results run a full scan with any of the above in safe mode (install the software then restart your computer and keep hitting f8 as soon as it restarts, you should get a menu come up, select safe mode, then when the computer has started into safe mode run a full scan)

start at the first program (adaware) and if that doesn't remove it try the next one.
