Oops sorry tomking, I thought you were calling me.
I used to have it and was not happy. There was a lot of problem with internet connection and one weekend did not get a service at all. I spent a lot of time listening to recordings of the which postcodes had problems. When I spoke to someone one day they offered me a £2 refunded for a weekend of nothing. Left them and now with BT. Every week or two something comes through door advertising Virgin but I would not go back.
Virgin Broadband. The two main ingredients needed for a World Of Warcraft profile.

I have the 60Mbps fibre optic service and am really happy with it - get around 45-50 Mbps at low usage periods.

Cost really depends on whether you get a phone line or TV packages also. I have only phone and broadband and it costs £35 a month.
£22 a month for their 20MB broadband (no landline, no tv). Had it 18 months and it has been pretty much faultless 24/7 during that period.
the service is fine when it's working.
when previous incumbents NTL installed the hardware in our area, the junction box for the estate proved to be too small for the amount of households that subscribed. Consequently it's overfull and if the engineers need to access it, they can't close it properly and it often bursts open, letting in the rain, etc.

I lived with a degraded service for months last year because Virgin know what the issue is but refuse to do anything about it. Currently the box is open to the elements, and I've reported it twice in the past week with no action. Only a matter of time before we all lose our service again.

btw, a combined TV/phone/broadband pack costs me about £65 per month.
I have virgin (been with them for ages) and am extremely happy with it, never had any problems, I pay for a bundle package tv, phone and broadband, which was originally all 3 for £30 (which i had when it was ntl) now i pay £48 for the xl package (inc faster broadband, more tv channels etc)
Just read Grasscarp answer, I have not had any unplanned outages on my service since it was installed over a year ago.

Just to be clear I have nothing to do with Virgin - I do think the £35 is a bit high but then it's comparable to BT's fibre optic service.
I was with NTL/Cable & Wireless before Virgin bought and rebranded them. They had the worst, and I mean by a long way in my experience. customer service ever.

Given what grasscarp has said not a lot appears to have changed, I had my phone with them and spent 2 hours hanging on the phone, until cut off.

In my experience, and in full concurence with grasscarp, I wouldn't go back ever.
customer service is awful, really truly awful but i have the broadband as part of my package at £18pm and that part is good. i've had one service interruption and they refunded 3 days
I have 30mb broadband as part of my phone/tv/broadband package. I have never had a problem with it, or with Virgin themselves.
Oops sorry, I pay £65 per month
I have only one word of advice for anyone thinking of changing to Virgin media. DON'T!!!!!!!! The customer service is shocking, wouldn't touch them again with someone else's!
I have found that customer service on the Virgin dedicated phone line(150)is excellent and had all my problems sorted out quickly. And it is free
I have had Virgin broadband for years and it has always been pretty reliable, better than BT from what I have seen. What little experience I have had of customer service it always seemed helpfull.
I've had Virgin Broadband 60mb/XL tv (HD as well)/phone line package for about £75 monthly since the service was started in our area. Only ever had one outage for about 10 hours.

Customer service has gone down slightly, but I've never been given duff information.

It always pays to argue the cost yearly as they always find something to offer you as an inducement to stay.
