Morning all Nice day ,bright and sunny earlier but turned a bit hazy now. It's not exactly heatwave temps either as they say in the papers. That Billy Connolly prog is very good.I enjoyed that. I hope it'll get better at some stage Neti.I'm a bit cheesed off it with all to be honest.

Morning...no snow (yet) but the sky's grey and it's bitterly cold. Parts of N. Derbys are cut off.
My hair's frightful but while the weather's as it is I've no incentive to do anything about it.

Well done shaney, they learned something, you got a consultation, everyone's a winner. I'll see about offering my services at the surgery. :) My mum's little fingers were bent all her life. I think she was told her she could have an op but never bothered. She never went to the doctor, I don't think her records ever got past the front page.
Yes, people should cancel/postpone appointments they can't attend. I have it on good authority that drs get annoyed (but don't suppose they show it) about mothers who take little Jason or Kylie to them because they 'didn't eat their tea last night'. No fever, no upset tum etc. I can't believe they do that.

I've got a couple of LP's I know are worth something but as for the rest...it depends on someone really wanting them enough.

oooh, some snow in the air...

Started spring cleaning as it is a lovely sunny warm day, and under the sofas was a lot of dust and unrecognisable things!
My old Auntie Ethel had very bent fingers and I would watch fascinated how she buttered a loaf before cutting it, she also had a best tea set with a cottage and crazy paving and flowers, I loved it!
Yes it was well worth my while going there yesterday. She's now referred me to a smaller clinic up the road aways where they look at gammy legs so I may get seen more quickly than the two month hospital wait .
My Mum had a tea set something like that Neti .I think it was called Cottageware.
There was a teapot that looked like a cottage and various other bits .

We definitely had that biscuit barrel.
Got out lovely here now but very cold .Too cold for any spring cleaning..
That's my excuse anyway .

Getting chillier now.
Not quite like that shaney, it had a white background and if I remember rightly the cups weren't rounded they were like threepenny bits if you see what I mean.
It's about time they sorted your leg out, getting to be like my nose, on and on and on!
Oh ,sort of scallop shaped Neti ? ..Like this ? Very pretty.

Driving me mad, I think they may have been square shaped now but it was 60 yrs ago. I've been trawling the Internet to find them but no good. No definitely not scalloped, when I see the design I'll know it. Won't rest now until I find it, and if Pinterest comes up again I'll scream, can't stand the site!

How is poor Mr S?
No snow here, it looks like another sizzler. I have just found that I missed my long lost Austrian cousin (never actually met her) by a few days as she was here early this week visiting her beach house. I must visit mine soon, as the sea looks very swimmable.
neti, have you tried googling octagonal teacup?

I have eaten an excellent dinner and dessert and cheesy biscuits as hors d’oevres and I am still hungry.
you have got a cousin with a beach house Jno? tres snob!

Beach house?pah!!
I have a laundry house!
She married an impecunious bank clerk, woofgang. He is now head of a major bank chain and very pecunious indeed. She divides her time between hemispheres and writes a gardening blog. Going by her biography she was a telly reporter back in the 1960s but I don't recall ever seeing her on the box. I'd love to meet her. Her son works in London so our paths may yet cross.
Beach huts are so passe dontcha know :)
We used to have one in my childhood here.We had it for the B&B people but they're all long gone from the beach now.It wasn't very salubrious though ,just a bench inside. Mainly used for getting out of the wind and changing swimming togs.It was in the first row near the yacht pond.

Mr S is feeling somewhat better thanks Neti but I've got a junior snotty grump here now !
I think I'm going to start wearing a face mask .If I get a dose I'll bang their heads together :)
oh bang their heads together anyway Shaney :)
The trouble with beach huts round here is that they are surrounded by other beach huts :(

Morning all.
Oh I would for my family to have had a beach hut, all the old people used to sit outside with a hot cuppa, and I could see a little stove and matress inside although Eastbourne would not allow anyone to sleep in them. They were at the Hollywell area, which is very pretty.
Big fish fiesta in town today, the plaice (haha) is heaving, so many people and fishy smells as they are cooking the fish as they are ordered. there were oysters and I would have had a couple but one had to buy a ticket and I cba. If I could have paid there and then I would. So we are going out to eat in a curry house tonight. Hija is in bed with stomach ache but honestly the amount of food she gets down her neck I am not at all surprised. At the rate she's going she'll be huge!!
Had a couple of coffees in town and there were bands playing but were not complimenting each other, one was loud and poppy and the other was trad jazz which I love but the singer was too weak and couldn't be hard, I sang my best to help her out but then I came home!

I spent literally hours yeaterday looking for my aunt's tea set but although many similar, couldn't find it and I cann't remember what style the cups were! deep sigh !!
I have spent the day sorting out and throwing away. 4 big bags of junk a load for empty boxes (why do I keep them) and a pile of books to give away. It must be spring!
Question Author
I also keep boxes woofy, here the guarantee is the box ergo my wardrobe and store room are full of vcr, dvd, tv water heater boxes!
Just had a curry in town, was nice, there is a local famous group playing in the main road, we listened for a minute but neither of us cba to bop about so we trudged home. I think every resident of S E is there listening, packed. Lovely in my bed waiting for Casualty. Hija is still abed, she must be unwell, we thought she'd have snuck out while we were away.
I am chomping on Rennies so as to ward off acid reflux later!

Getting old I fear!
Evening all. Just sitting relaxing with Casualty on. Had a really good day with no aches and pains. Fuschia's for my usual cuppa and catchup. Then home in time for Steady to call with his pre Mums Day flowers and card cos he's going away tomorrow. Wasn't allowed to open the card til then. Then a win for the Rams at home. 2 goals to 0 against Huddersfield. Then to top it all a phone call with Steadier to wish me a Happy Mums Day for tommow too.

I'm sorry Jno but I've missed where you are enjoying some lovely weather. Hope you enjoying yourselves. I'm off to York at the end of May so maybe (there's a pun there) it will be a bit warmer then than here. Mind you the sun has been shining today on and of.
I'm happy for you Shaney about you getting seen to a bit quicker at a smaller. Clinic about you leg. It's been a long time hasn't it.

Neti I really like this new phone. Samsung J1 smart phone. Just enough for me with a few new improvements on it compared to my Ace 3.

Hope you get to see your sister again soon Woofy. It's good to get together, I know. My Saturday cuppa has gone on for many years right back to when Steady was a young lad.
I've not forgotten you Robi. Hope you've enjoyed the sunny parts of the day. I walked back from the match and it was great. There was only one small black cloud and a drop of rain at the match.
I'm off now to,see if I can catch up with casualty. Have a good night all.
